Hi ladies! I really need your help. This might get a little long and I am sorry for that.
1. What exactly do FH and I need when we go get our Marriage License?
2. Who are you having hand out all your tip envelopes the day of the wedding if you arent doing it yourself? I have a feeling FH and I arent going to be in the right state of mind to be thinking about our tip envelopes, no?
3. Is it necessary to get a card box?
4. For your OOT Bags for hotel, did you do a notecard for guests explaining the Shuttle service to and from the hotel (if you got this service) and breakfast on FH and I (if you did this as well) for the following morning? Where did you get your bags for this at all?
5. Dinner Menus? How the #ell do I begin to to this? Does Michaels have already designed ones that I can just print my menu on them with my own computer? If so, do they have a big selection?
6. I feel like I havent spoken to my officiant in a long time.....I think like 3 months ago I called to make sure he was going to be there. Is it bad if I call again to make sure?
7. How did you write out your instructions for the RH for all the stuff you drop off to them 3 days before?
Ugh....sorry so long guys! I hope you can help me!
TIA!!!

Hi ladies! I really need your help. This might get a little long and I am sorry for that.
1. What exactly do FH and I need when we go get our Marriage License?
Birth Certificates & License
2. Who are you having hand out all your tip envelopes the day of the wedding if you arent doing it yourself? I have a feeling FH and I arent going to be in the right state of mind to be thinking about our tip envelopes, no?
My hubby handed out all of the envelopes at the end of the night.
3. Is it necessary to get a card box?
Not necessary because Ive seen the bride go around with one of those bags... BUT, I personally liked having one because my mom said that when we werent even in the room yet- people were lining up putting envelopes into the cardbox so that they didnt have to hold onto them or lose them. I think its a good idea to get one.
4. For your OOT Bags for hotel, did you do a notecard for guests explaining the Shuttle service to and from the hotel (if you got this service) and breakfast on FH and I (if you did this as well) for the following morning? Where did you get your bags for this at all?
I bought bags at Target- they were cute... have a bride and groom on it...not expensive. Then I just bought chips, bottles of water, candy, etc and put it in there with tissue paper. I also printed up the shuttle schedule ANDDDDDD the time that we would meet the next morning downstairs to have breakfast. I stapled it on the bag.
5. Dinner Menus? How the #ell do I begin to to this? Does Michaels have already designed ones that I can just print my menu on them with my own computer? If so, do they have a big selection?
I didnt bother to do this. I just used the ones that Jericho Terrace had provided b/c I wanted to spend the money elsewhere.
6. I feel like I havent spoken to my officiant in a long time.....I think like 3 months ago I called to make sure he was going to be there. Is it bad if I call again to make sure?
When are you getting married? I only met with my deacon twice...once like 4 months ahead and we met another time one month before our wedding. We had to go over how we wanted to say our vows, passages read, etc.
7. How did you write out your instructions for the RH for all the stuff you drop off to them 3 days before?
I printed up a list of EVERYTHING I wanted done, what tables I wanted my high and low centerpieces on (also gave a list of that to the florist), I dont drink champagne so I wanted white wine for toast, etc. It was one page typed :)
Ugh....sorry so long guys! I hope you can help me!
TIA!!!

Re: I need your help!
I think most of your questions have been answered but I wanted to add a few things.
- I don't think there is anything wrong with not hearing from your officiant in that time span, but it's always a good idea to call and confirm the week of the wedding. If you have a DOC, they typically will do this.
- I have spent HOURS (& I'm not done) organizing everything to be dropped at the RH. LABEL everything with your last names, wedding date & time. I personally wrote out instructions on index cards and taped it to the boxes. In one instance, I took a picture of how I wanted something to look because it's the one thing that's important to me. When you meet with the Banquet Manager, go over everything. If you write instructions, it's more likely to get done because the Banquet Manager is not the only person who will be setting up for you that day.
- Card Boxes are not necessary, many people opt for a money bag and have a parent hold it. I think they are easier though. Some people will just go drop the card in whereas if you are collecting envelopes, everyone has to wait to give it to you which can really detain you for quite a while. People tend to want to do it right away so it's good to let them do it and be done with it.
