Ok so here it goes...My father is fully disabled and by that I mean that he does not walk and his speaking ability is very slim. I know for a fact that the day of my wedding it will be extremely emotional for me because he will not be able to walk his little girl down the aisle, however I have a wonderful mother who will play the role that day. I was thinking that he would meet us, in his wheelchair, at the end of the aisle so at least he will feel special. Now I was thinking about the father-daughter dance. Should I completely elimate it or should I dance with my mother? I was thinking about dancing Christina Aguilera's 'I Turn To You.' I love that song.

personally i would be so touched if i was at ur wedding and u were dancing w/ ur father and mother. maybe u can start w/ ur mom and have ur dad cming in towards the end and i dunno it its possilbe but maybe sit on his lap or something
its really up to you though and how u feel about it, maybe discuss it w/ ur mother see what she says and then maybe w/ ur father

I totally think he should go in his wheelchair down the aisle with both you and your mom! It would be much more touching, if hes okay with that that is!
And about the dance... ask yourself if you would be comfy dancing with mom (or have another important man in your life take your dads place) If not, eliminating it would be fine... not everyone does the father-daughter, mother-son dances!

i think thats a lovely idea, and i dont think the dance needs to be eliminated whatsoever... i think you can dance with both parents even though your father is in a wheelchair... why not just hold his hands and let him know how important he is to you?... i think it can totally be worked out.

I dont think it would be a good idea if I sat on his lap, I think my dress will be too big for him to handle.

I definitely like the idea of him walking with us.....As far as the dance is concerned, I really do not have another man in my life that has influenced and supported me like my father has, so he is very important to me and I love him so much. I just hope and pray that he is able to make it to see that day.

oh my goodness..what a hard situation for you...I think you should do whatever makes you comfortable and makes you feel like you are showing your love and support for your dad the way he has been there for you. I love the idea of walking down the aisle and dancing iwth both parents...i would also be so touched if i were at your wedding!
I definately think you should have you father come down the aisle with you guys ,, however I think you should skip the dance and maybe show some pics of you and your dad when you were a lil girl on a screen while they play the song you were going to dance with your dad to. Your father is still alive so I wouldnt think it wouuld be a great idea if you danced with someone else. JMO ... HTH

I love the idea of showing the pictures while playing the song you would have liked to dance to. Maybe your father can join you at the center of the dancefloor with you and you both can watch the video together so that the look on your faces can be caputured by the photographer and after the video is over maybe you can give him a small git, like an engraved frame with a picture of you both together. It would be something he treasures forever and a moment he will never forget.

I second this.... maybe leave it up to him wether he wants to still do it or not..... if not then dance with your mom
