Re: I never thought I would say this but...
omg i feel the same way. This is my first summer off being married and its so different. All the other summers I would stay up talking to my sister forever, laffing and joking then we would sleep the day away. Now, I have to get up, clean, cook, shop,...so different. I think I just might rather work...how bad is that!
I am not Holly Homemaker and I guess I just have to settle into some sort of a routine.
This site helps a lot though to break up the day!

I keep thinking since schools been out that I am going to get a call from work asking where I am or something. It feels very very weird! And I have been INCREDIBLY bored!

you know what Holly, you're right, I should be thankful for my time off. Afterall, this is one of the good things about being a teacher, right? I mean besides the kids of course!

I am by no means complaining. I need this time to regroup, decompress so that I can be refreshed, ready and energized for the following year. It is just that today was the first day so I was feeling lost. Like Rachel said I was waiting for the call-- where are you, you have class. In about a week I will find so much to do that I will never want to go back!!!

swags, you're right, there is an adjustment period. I mean, you go from crazy busy one day to nothing on your plate the next. It's just weird. And it doesn't really happen around xmas or spring break because you know you have to go right back, but now it's like, OMG, what am I supposed to be doing?

Re: I never thought I would say this but...
you can all sit at my desk in a freezing flourescent lit office all day bored to death like me
Oh and the best part is, you get to practically be trampled going to and from work by the tourists who have never seen a building higher than 5 stories, insane NYers who step on the backs of my sandals to get past me, and the guys who shove flyers in your face!!!
JK I am so jealous! You are very lucky, enjoy it..... after I get my Masters in Ed, I will be joining you!

Now is your chance to catch up on things, maybe explore a new hobby, do for YOU. Peticure, walk, beach, picnic, read, relax, fix/paint something, crafts, look into town 'happenings', look into day trips....be creative!

Re: I never thought I would say this but...
I'm going through that same adjustment period and the bit of tutoring I'm doing isn't making the adjustment that much easier. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one waiting to get the call saying...'hello, remember your students?'. hehe.
