so i am no longer with flowers by gina- after going back and forth with the contract & making the changes I WANTED to make she tells me its her daughters 1st communion all of a sudden and cant do the wedding - then sends me an email in error that was supposed to go to her attorney asking if i can sue her and i changed the contract all the time bla bla bla so...... any one have a better florist???? She was really helpful im just upset now that i have to go look for another florist..... GRRRRRRRRRR

wow. uhmm.. at least she let u know now, not later on? and she was honest instead of doing a half azzed job?

Ugh wow! Did you respond to the email where she asked if you can sue her?? Omg thats so bad! You are better off though, you want someone who can give you the full attention you deserve!

I'm sorry to hear that... Does she know she sent you the e-mial... i'm spiteful and could think of a tons of things to do...hehehe
Either way, at least she let you know a yr in advance and you have plenty of time to get what you want from someone else. She is giving you back any deposit you gave her? Otherwise I would def go to a lawer!

OMG... This is so upsetting! You were her like #1 fan. I find the whole communion thing a little fishy.... you don't find out what day your communion is until a few months before. Hmm.... This is upsetting, I was looking forward to meeting with her during my hunt for a florist.
Thanks for letting us all know this negative side so others can read this and assess.

I know we never got to talk about Flowers by Gina, but there is a reason why I didn't book with her. I was all excited to use her when I went to see her. She had promised she could do my wedding for about $1000. After I had sent her pics of the flowers and colors I wanted, I thought she would show me something based on my ideas. After seeing her work, I was not impressed. so I spent an hour and half working with her to see if i could get something I liked. She then proceeded to quote me more than $1400 which was even more than what Pedestals quoted me, and she was asking me to pay for stuff that I was getting free from pedestals. In addition, she was charging me a delivery fee on top of it.
I posted here my experience to get advice from LIW brides. I was feeling a bit guilty for spending so much time with her to now tell her that i was going with someone else. Before, I could call her, she had left a voicemail message where she was telling me she read what I wrote. i was in and then that turned into . By doing that she definitely turned me off from using her.
I mean vendors here do lurk, and some take criticism and use it as a selling tool, by trying to give you upgrades, give you discounts,etc, in order to get your business. If she had done that without telling me she read my post, I may have used her. But when she mentioned she read my post, I felt like Big Brother watching me and that just sealed her fate.
I wish you luck on getting another florist.....
ETA: if you are going to Pedestals...try meeting with Vito....he is such a sweetie!!!

Ughhh - sorry to hear that - you will definitely find a better florist there are plenty of reviews on here...

I am going with Flower Michele. I had a problem that I posted about a few days ago, but they were in fact on vacation, and accommodated me and my requested revisions as soon as they returned, and I was there today as well to sign my formal contract. I was torn between them and pedestals - I would suggest checking out both!

Sorry to hear she can't make your new date. That does s**k. Did you make a lot of other changes besides your date and RH? It could play a factor in availability, especially in May which is communion month. BUT, at least she told you so far in advance. She's been nothing but awesome to me so far, price and otherwise, but did you try Pedestals or Burton's yet?

On the bright side...
You know exactly what you want from a florist. I suggest going through a bunch and getting quotes for exactly what you picked out with Gina!

She is so sweet, kind, caring, and reasonable. We checked out about 10 florists and she was an easy decision for us.

Well, I recently had a similar post-reading from a DJ (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE ) who FM'ed me to get defensive about his pricing when I said NOTHING bad, just that I was asking for a range on BHB because I didn't know what DJ prices were...DEFINITElY NOT BOOKING WITH THEM
To the OP: I am soooo sorry that stinks...good luck finding a new florist
