Question though. I tried on the sample dress which was a size 12. The lady measured me and that was about right. I am in the process of losing weight, I have a 6 month old baby. I plan on losing 20 lbs more before June 1. The lady said to order the size 12 and they can just alter it. Question is, do you think i should order a size or two down?? I know i will lose the weight, I have been consistently losing for the past six months. Im not a vain person, but I hate to order a bigger size if I don't have to. Also, if I was going to try and resell the dress afterwards, I would think the less alterations the better? What do you think?

I am in the same predicament! I measured as a 12 but I ordered a 10. My pre-pregnancy size was smaller than a 10 but I figured rather safe than sorry you know!

When I was trying on dresses someone had this same question. Her answer was that it is much easier to take in a dress and nearly impossible to let it out. With that info I think you are better letting them take it in when you lose all the weight than having something come up where you cant lose the weight and then you are in a predicament. Congrats on finding your dress, I am still searching!!

By the bigger size and get it taken in!! It's soooo much easier to go from big to small!

So you girls dont think the dress wont look 'messed up' if it has to be taken in to like a size 8?

I don't think it'll make the dress look off doing the alterations. Always easier from big to small.

OMG!! I tried on that dress at Bridal Suite in Bay Shore. My mom and MOH swore it was THE ONE but I had a hard time walking in it. I am not very graceful, I trip in Uggs so I was worried about walking/dancing on my wedding day. It is gorgeous though!!

your dress is beautiful!! I had a bit of the opposite problem, i ordered my dress a size bigger since i had been sick when i went to try the dress on and wanted to make sure it fit when it came in. When i ordered, they said they can take the dress in up to 2 sizes (i measured size 8 and ordered size 10 knowing they could make it a size 6 if needed). Just be aware, the size 12 is based on your largest measurement, and does not mean anything in relation to the street size you typically wear. Def do not order it smaller!!

I do not suggest ordering smaller, it is easy to take in the dress, but you cannot let it out. I am having the oppostie problem, I was dieting when trying on dresses, but the months since ordering I put some of that weight back on. Now when my dress came in its a bit tight, and I wish I ordered a larger size.
