I picked Captain Bills in Bayshore and have a date, June 4, 2004. I am just so happy now I have a date so when people ask I can tell them. Do you think I need to look into everything else now or can I wait a while since I have so much time?

Congrats on finding a place. You can wait. But, if you want you can order invitation catalogs or buy magazines just to get ideas. Congrats again!!

I called the church and have the date but I dont know if I want that church or another but at least I know they have my date. I will think about the other church and if I change I will call them. i have magazines and look on this site all the time. I have been getting ideas and love to see what everyone else is doing. Thanks

Congrats! You have plenty of time and can definitely wait. But, you might as well get cracking because vendor prices seem to jump all the time! I got engaged 5 mos ago and some of my vendors have already raised their prices. You might want to get the big ones out of the way so you can lock in the prices they are at now. Who knows how much they will cost next year. If money isn't a concern, you should sit back and relax

Congratulations! I would book your ceremony site next.
You can wait awhile, but the earlier you book the better your chance of getting the vendors you want for better prices now.

Congratulaitons!! Isn't it great to get started.
You do have plenty of time, but it can't hurt to start looking around, attending bridal shows to get a better idea about what you like and don't like.
Most of all - Enjoy!

Congratulations! Booking the site is a huge thing ~ you have the date officially set!
For the most part I think you can hang back and enjoy being engaged for a little while! But I would work out the church as soon as possible. I would hate to see you have to scramble later on to find a church available for your date.

Re: I picked my place
My wedding is sept of 2003 , and i started in december of 2001 , so dont ever let anyone tell you its too early. You need time to shop around for invitations , DJ's , photographers , and you need to set up appointments too... So use it well , I have talked to 10 different DJs before I hired mine, and 5-6 Photographers , and still havent reserved one yet.. And if a vendor tells you ' you have plenty of time , call us back in a few months or whatever , dont use em... I understand that a wedding a few months away should be catered to first , but they should still give u the same effort of giving you their time , an ' interview ' brochures and Price Lists ! 6 months have gone by , and I have done so much , and theres still a ton to do.. Good Luck !

Congratulations!! I am also getting married in 2004 (May 16) and so far we've only booked the reception and church. We're probably going to start looking into other vendors around November.
