I probably shouldn't be making a big deal of this... maybe I'm being a baby

Some background:

My Mom bought her MOB dress in NJ. This wouldn't be so bad if it was just over the bridge. It's not; it's 2 HOURS into Jersey, practically the Philly border.

Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, she says she wants to make an appt for a fitting for 8/18 (Wednesday), BUT that we're taking my sister and the dog and going to AC afterward for 2 nights. WHAT?!? I PLEADED to make it one night, that I'd split the driving with her. After a lot of going back and forth, I relented.

Here's the stitch: I have BPics that Saturday morning AND I was banking on getting my hair done Friday night because I'm taking the BPic first appt which means there's no time to do my hair in the morning. I thought if I got my hair done the night before, I could salvage it and maybe curl it a little before Bpics. Mom said she could get us home in time for my hair appt. Fine.

Mom just calls me. She's like, 'You're not going to like this.' She continues to say that she called the dress shop to make the appt and they're booked solid for 8/18 EVEN THO THEY TOLD HER TO CALL A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE TO MAKE THE APPT! So now she has to make the appt for 8/20 at 3PM! My hair appt was at 5. FML.

Mom doesn't know I have BPics Sat morning. She thinks the whole idea is stupid, so I didn't even tell her about it. I just told her I was going to an LIW thing.

Whatever, I guess now I'll get my color done earlier in the week and do my hair myself for BPics. ARGGGGG MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for reading my rant. I'm pissssed.

are you still going to ac? what about getting your hair done as late as possible 8/19?

Nah we're still going to AC on 8/18 and we're just having the fittings on the way back instead of on the way there.

do you think it would help if YOU call the bridal shop? maybe you can make it earlier in the day??

You're gonna look great no matter what. Plus 2 days in AC how fun! Sounds like a great weekend. Don't let this little glitch ruin it for you. It will all work out.

Or why doesn't she just pick up the dress and get it altered in NY?

Supposedly they have a great team of seamstresses and she wants to stay there for the fittings. I think it's crazy, but she really doesn't have a tailor around here that she trusts anymore (the dry cleaner where her old tailor was burned down!).

I guess I just have to suck it up. I'll probably have a good time since it's AC, you're right. I just need to figure out what I'm doing and then I'll be ok. I hate just winging things! lol

since your wedding is late october, why don't you just change the alteration appointment for the following week? its not like your wedding is next week and she needs it done asap.

What time are b-pics on Saturday? There's NO possible way you can get it done early enough? Or maybe get it done in AC?

get her fittings done in jersey where my mom went. along with my bp and myself ( as a bm) 55$ MAX. shes amazzing

My Mom, Sister and I sat down and went over possible dates. This is the only time we can do it.

I just changed my hair appt to this Saturday, so at least my color will be fresh and then I'll figure out what to do with my hair for Bpics. I have to be at Jen's studio by 10, maybe I can find a place open early...
