having to negotiate. I hate when you are on here and one girl says the photographer said 3,000 and another says 3,500 and then you get a price of 4,900!! Honestly...I hate it. Sometimes I think vendors hear where you are getting married and jack up the price!

Re: I really hate..
so when they ask...don't tell...tell them within a mile range of where you are in relation to them and tell them flat out that friends have been quoted with them before and you don't want your venue to affect the offer because you already know what to expect...

Re: I really hate..
I am looking at photographers and vidoegraphers now. Honestly, next time I am going to say I am not sure which venue or say the cheapest one on Long Island. Plus, I hate when they try to stare at your e-ring. I am getting sick of this negotiating. I wish it were like Macy's $30 for the shirt no negotiating.
Would you tell a vendor... well on Liweddings they quoted you this...for thiss.... or would you just leave it alone?

I would ask them what the difference in price is between X Y and Z's package and the one they are offering you--your the consumer & are paying them not the other way around.

i would say it as if you knew the person or it was someone you met through work and you got to talking...and if they ask what she said i'd just say we can talk about what she told me to expect after you give me the quote...or as my dad told me i should never be afraid to walk away because you can always go back, but if people want your business bad enough, they'll try to keep you there...but you can keep your mouth shut and shop it, then call them back a week later like listen i like you guys a lot, i spoke with some people who used you recently who also loved your work, but to be honest they paid a lot less for the same job...can you do any better? (or even say what they paid)...i wouldnt be afraid to say it because the worst they say is nope can't do it....plus if you can, offer to pay in cash and see if they are any more negotiable...

Re: I really hate..
They all do it! That's why I never EVER book anyone on the spot. I always say (even if it's not true) that I'm going to look at other vendors, then say I got x price, can they meet or beat it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it's worth a try!

They are doing it probably because they dont know the way the economy is going to go in two years so they are hoping to get as much as they can. Dont go with them unless they are incredible.

Re: I really hate..
I can't stand what photographers charge. 4000 for 10 hours is 400 an hour. If you ask me that is completely overpriced for someone to take pictures. That's more then what the partners at my firm charge per hour.

Re: I really hate..
I hate when vendors flip flop with their prices. BUT u do have to take into consideration what was included in the persons pckg and what you got quoted for in yours. Also what year.. u can be getting a quote frm a 2011 bride and we're getting married in 2013! Some places will let u lock in whatever the current price is but others once they hear 2013 and its so far away they want to jack up the price.
