Where I work is a family business. I plan on inviting my boss and his wife. As well as my bosses son who works in my department. The problem is the bosses daughter. She got married about 3 years ago and I was not invited. (which really didn't bother me) She is not someone that I would speak to outside of work. She also has had small gatherings at her house with a select few of girls that I work with I also was not invited. The next day she boasts about what a great time it was and how everything was perfect. I don't care! She a very strange woman sometimes she talks on and on about her house her wedding her CAT! ?? If I say anything about myself she just passes it over and its all about her again!
I need some advice on should I invite her or not. Should I just invite her due to work politics?

hmmm. thats a tough one. are you closer with the brother? do you see him outside of work? if not, then id invite her just out of respect for her parents. if you do see him out of work because you are closer from working in the same dept, and it is apparent to everyohne that you are friends...then i think you could skip the sister. does that make sense?

I'd like to add my opinion. It's a tricky situation, and I don't know what's RIGHT in instances like this. But I feel it never hurts to kiss up to the boss. If you've got the space, invite the daughter and for all you know she may choose not to come. If she does come, the more the merrier, as they say.

karen i know where you work!!! do you think it will cause a problem between you and your boss? you have to work there everyday... it might be easier to say no, but will it be tolerable after the wedding? is this the type of person that will make you feel uncomfortable afterwards? do you think she even cares? LOL! this is so hard to do!!! we sould get together and commiserate!!!!!
