I am second guessing my photog so much. I have been since I bboked them. I absolutely LOVE the package I got, it has more than I have seen any other place offer, but I keep on seeing not so great revies. I love the photojournalistic style and I even have a 2nd photog. that does that but, I feel like it is still too traditional for my taste. I already put down $800 that is NON-REFUNDABLE, I guess worse comes to worse I could eat that 800, I couldn't tell fh of course, he doesn't even know who the hell we booked anyway. What should I do, should I meet w/ others and see if I get a better feeling w/ them or suck it up and hope for the best w/ the one I have and not lose $800 Please give me your advice, I am freaking

Re: I REALLY need some advice
If your seriously second guessing yourself I would look into hiring another photographer. I've seen so many girls on here who write up bad reviews and say that they booked a vendor who had bad reviews and they thought their wedding would be different and it wasn't. $800 is a lot but is it worth more than being content with your photographer?

Tough one. For me it would come down to finances.
Maybe you could voice your concerns with your photographer? Tell them that you really want some non-traditional shots, etc.
Good luck.

Honestly if you are that stressed out about it I don't think it would hurt to just visit other photographers to meet with them and ease your mind. I mean 2 things could happen, you could realize that you are happy with your choice or you could find someone better and then in the long run although you lose the $800 you are happier with your photos. Good Luck and let us know what you deicde

Think about it though. Photojournalistic is the big thing right now, but maybe a nice blend of that and traditional photographs will stand the test of time better?

It is your decision to make, but I just wanted to let you know that ADA was very highly reccomended to me by several friends, whose pictures came out great!

Re: I REALLY need some advice
I fell in love with another photographer after we had booked with a different one. FH didnt want to lose the $ we put down so we are going to do a day after shoot. For the actual wedding you need some traditional shots. Just let your photographer know that this isn't all that you want. You want to get creative and maybe have some shots in your mind that you would like to do

I would check with photog that you booked bring samples of what you are trying to achieve ....see if they can do it.....If not re book.....I just know right now I couldnt eat 800.00 nor would I be able to do it and not feel horrible about keeping it from FH

Thanks guys, I just made an appointment w/ a photog that I really like and we will see what happens, as for getting the $800 back, my wedding is a year away maybe they will do something for me, and also I paid that deposit myself so fh can't say anything.

I was gonna say the same thing. I would definitely go and meet with your photographer again. Just tell them you are having nervous bride jitters and want to sit down with them.
after that meeting, if you're still uncomfortable, maybe rebooking is a good idea. For me, $800 is a lot but for others it's not. It's all up to you and your comfort level.

Re: I REALLY need some advice
that is a REALLY hard decision.
$800 is a lot of money. but would you sacrifice the memories of your wedding b/c you didn't want to waste $800?
after booking the RH for me, the next most important thing (even over my DRESS) was the photographer. i am big into pictures, and i need to make sure i have excellent quality when it comes to my looking back on my wedding. b/c after that one day is over, the memories are all you have.
if you are REALLY feeling uncertain about your photog...well if it was me i think i would eat the $800. i hate to say it b/c that REALLY is a lot of money!!!! but in the end, i think that's what i personally would do.

Ditto - go with your GUT! Get another photographer - I have also read many reviews where girls say my gut was saying book someone else but I didn't want to lose the money..

I think you should talk to your photog. and let them know what you're concerned with and see if they can alleviate some of your anxiety

Re: I REALLY need some advice
I think before you make a decision meet with another photographer and then meet with yours tell your exactly what you want and maybe show some details and see how he reacts. You have so many other expenses that come with the wedding you don't want to lose $800 if you really don't have to.

Re: I REALLY need some advice
aw im sorry..but if your happy with them thats all that matters (who cares about the reviews) but on the other hand if your not happy with their work or something else and are second guessing yourself..maybe you should look around..you want to be sure because these are your wedding photos, and you will have them the rest of your life..good luck and i wish i could help more

Re: I REALLY need some advice
ask them if they can take a lot of candid shots. I's pretty much like photojournalistic.....

Re: I REALLY need some advice
First of all like others said..photography was top on my list as being the most important..bc thats what u have to remember the day..so make sure u LOVE and are confident with the one u choose
are there any specific reasons why you are not sure about them? if u have seen a ton of there work and dont like their style then i say look elsewhere..tho u lose out on 800 u wanna make sure u are getting the pics u want! Go with ur gut!

Re: I REALLY need some advice
I feel the same as some of the girls. If you are this upset with it I would just look also. It can't hurt. Good luck meeting with the other photographer. Let us know how it goes. Remember the pictures will be with you always and you want them to come out the way you want. You have to be comfortable. If you like this other photographer maybe you can explain the situation and he can give you a deal. Hope everything works out.
