I REALLY need to VENT!!!

your mother needs to understand that it's your wedding day... and she cannot get upset over who you are and are not inviting...

as for the shower... I totally understand what you mean about not inviting woman that you don't really know... I also feel like its indirectly asking for a gift...

things will work out... they always do...
and let your mother know that you are not trying to upset her... this is just how you feel and hopefully you guys can work through this...

Thanks. I told her that I'm not trying to upset her and asked her not to stress me out. She says she's not stressing me out (and she would know, right? Even though I'm telling her she is).

We'll work through it, it'll just be painful during the process.

Sorry your mom is causing you stress. I know exactly how you feel... it seems likemy moms goal in life is to keep me stressed. Stick to what you want and don't let her crying change your mind. It is YOUR wedding. She will get over it.. I am sure.

First I was under the assumption that the shower is a surprise and the bride should NOT have to stress about it at all. Cant your BMs or MOH or mom talk to a key planning person from your FIs side? I think my sister and mom will call FIs mom and sister and work out the guests that way.

If you need to vent again, thats what we are here for.

I am really sorry! I am so sad for all of the brides who have to vent over their shower...does everyone in this world forget that the bride most times has nothing to do with the shower. I really want ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with mine but I know I will be venting away as soon as they all start their planning!

I told them that I don't want to know ANYTHING about the shower. My involvement ends at giving them a list, and the list is what started this whole drama.

I called my mom today to see if she can go with me to try on dresses tomorrow, but I have a feeling she's purposely not picking up the phone because it's me (caller ID). I left a message, we'll see if she calls back. My sister agreed to go with me, so I won't be alone, but it's right near my mom's house. We'll see what happens.... Thanks again.
