I really need your help!

I really need your help!

I am having my engagement party at home on Sept. 24th. My invites have gone out already and RSVP's are in. I have ordered the food and everything is set to go. My grandmother lives with us and has recently taken a turn for the worse. It does not appear that she is going to make it and it could be any day now. Should i cancel the party and make it for a later time? (I feel like i should) If so, what do i say to people, do i send something out stating that the party has been canceled? Do i move it to another location? Please help!

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother.
I know what it's like worrying about a grandparent's health, my grandfather was very ill for years before he passed. If you are concerned about having it at your home where she may be uncomfortable, then I think you should have it somewhere else. But if you're like me, I'm sure that if you had it somewhere else, all you'd be doing is thinking about your grandmother.
So I agree with Blue-ize.. maybe you should postpone. But only you know what your heart is saying!

I would hold of and postpone it and see what happens

Firstly Im so sorry to heard about your grandmother and my prayers are with you and your family. I would definately postpone as well.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. My prayers are with you and your family. I agree that you should postpone the party. Your mind is on other things right not, rightfully so. You can always have the party at a later date.

I am so sorry about your Grandmother... That is a really hard thing to go through.

I think it's in your best interest to postpone. Even if you change locations, I highly doubt you're going to want to celebrate.

I would postpone the party. Send a note telling them that your grandmother is sick and you would like to spend time with her. Everyone will understand

Hello! Just to give you an update- Grandma is doing fine! She miraculously turned around and is still here with us! With that being said, we are still having the e-party here, so im really happy that she will be here for that, because she obviously wont be here for the wedding. It's this Sat. so i'll post after!

Depending on how many people and who they are you could 1) call each of them or 2) send out a second mailing, just a little postcard that says due to unforseen circumnstances the aprty is postponed until furhter notice, watch your mailbox for a new invitation. best of luck
