BUT I stalked my BBB registry and a ton of stuff is missing

There are some items that were bought that I NEVER put on the registry, but are now on it. It says 0 Requested 2 bought
did this happen to you?

yes that happened with me bc people bought the wrong stuff

I think that if people buy stuff for themselves and don't say 'that one isn't from the registry' and the cashier is checking you out it might end up on yours. Or they could just be buying you whatever the h ell they want!

This happened to me. When I was returning these 'unregistered items' I asked the saleswoman about them. Apparently, if someone buys something for your registry that is not on the registry, they can ask BBB to put it on the registry.

This is actually a good thing, because it will make it easier for you to return the items after the fact. In the moment, it is very frustrating to see items added to the registry that you did not want/ask for, while items you do want go unpurchased.
Don't worry, that's what store credit is for :)
