Well girls, i found my dress yesterday and put down a deposit. The dress will be getting ordered right before Thanksgiving (8 months in advance)....the reason i did not order it yesterday is because we were not sure what size to order....
my chest and waist measured a perfect size 6 but my hips/thighs/a@@ was the perfect size...12!!! Of course they would have to order the 12 and take the top in but thats taking in half of the dress!!!! Their is beadwork and other details on the top and i dont want to lose that when they take it in.
So my question to you ladies is how can i lose a few inches in my butt????? I joined a gym last month so i have access to weights, equipment etc but i dont know what I should do specific for my butt and i cant afford a trainer. This past month I mostly did the elliptical but I think i will try running....and i also saw someone doing squats today and thought that would help. can anyone give me any suggestions on how to lose a few inches?!?!?
I know i will never get down to a size 6 all over, but I would at least like to e able to order a 10 (ideally an 8 though)...so maybe if I can get down to a 10 and throw on a tight pair of spanx lol but either way i need to lose a little TIA

Lunges. Many, many, many lunges with a 10 lb. weight in each hand. Running/walking/elliptical should also help! Good luck! And btw your dress is beautiful!

This may be a dumb question but what shape is the dress? If its not fitted all the way through you may be able to order the smaller size anyway and it wont really matter what size your bottom half is.
But yeah, I would focus on lunges, squats, and leglifts. Maybe you could do like one training session just to get a customized routine set up, and then do that on your own when your there? Good luck! Those are my problem areas too so I totally understand what you are going through!

Oops, missed the last line. With that dress it really might not matter since it starts to flare after the waist, but I guess it would be scary to take a chance like that. Good luck!
ETA; Haha, I was so busy focusing on the shape of the dress but I wanted to add that its gorgeous and I'm sure it will look amazing on you!

I hate to advocate spending extra money but it might be worth it to sit with a trainer once or twice just to learn the types of exercises.... In my experience those lunges, squats etc make my butt bigger (nicer, but bigger). The eliptical is probably a great option but keep it at the lower angles & resistance - the higher the resistance themore it's going to work out your thighs (again an area that I always bulk up on which sux).

the dress is gorgeous!!!! congratulations!!!!!!!!
if you are not going to order your dress until around Thanksgiving, lots of exercise will help. However, i would order whatever size you need for the dress at that time. these seamstresses at the bridal shops do this for a living and are pro's. they know just hat to take in and what to leave and not take away any of the intricate work that is on a wedding dress

Running. I have the same problem. I am way bigger on the bottom then on the top, I started running, and my butt started melting off, it was amazing. If only I could do it again...
