I SAVED a TON on my HEADPIECE!!

Ok, so I very rarely post, but i had to tell all of you about the amount of money i SAVED!!! I went to a local bridal shop and found a headpiece i fell in love with. I wouldve put a deposit down on the piece but due to circumstances out of my control, i was unable to at that time. Anyway, the lady at the store gave me a quote on the piece. So when i got home i was trying to find it online so i could send it to my mom so she could see it and I FOUND IT!!! ONLY it was $180 CHEAPER!!!!!!

The price in the store was $280 PLUS TAX, the price online...$99. I couldnt believe it. I called up the online place (they are out of california) and i spoke to the woman and it is the SAME EXACT headpiece and they get it from the exact same place as bridal salons do. Also, she said i would have the headpiece delivered to me in about a week as opposed to the bridal shop which can take anywhere between 3 and 8 weeks! And when i told the woman how much it was in the store, she said it was one of the worst markups she has ever heard and that the store probably marked it up between 400 and 500%... THATS HIGHWAY ROBBERY!! , but i guess thats what the going rate is in NY.

Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you. I also purchased my veil online and got it like $40 cheaper then buying it in a bridal salon. I understand that a store has a lot more overhead but thats insane. I am spending enough $$ on this wedding, i cant afford to be ripped off.

If anyone has any questions about where i bought my veil or headpiece online to save money, feel free to ask.

I bought the headpiece off of glamgal . com. The woman is great. I highly recommend it.

do you have to try on the headpiece together with your gown to make sure it matches?

Although my gown has a lot of beading, the headpiece that i bought is fine. I got one with just rhinestones and NO pearls b/c there are no pearls in my dress. If you think about it, its on your head, how many people are gonna be able to tell that its not a perfect match to your dress. Im sure it will go just fine. Honestly, thats the least of my concerns, im just happy i found one that i liked and thats the perfect size for how im doing my hair.

I went to a local place by me but im sure its the same in most bridal places. You should go to a decent local bridal place that carries quite a few different headpieces/tiaras/headbands and try them on. However, i must say, the stores do their best to try and protect themselves and not give out the exact style number. The place i went to gave the style number written reverse then what it really is, so it really depends on where you go. I definitely recommend you going someplace and trying them on before ordering. And once you find something you like, try and see if you can non-chalantly ask them who makes it and then go online and see if you can find it. I know its like using the store but they are just too expensive to buy from the store. The style number, depending on the store is usually the same or the reverse, for example. if the peice is a BEL AIRE peice it maybe be BA 1234 but in the store they may have it as something like 4321 AB. you just have to pay attention to the design of the piece you are serious about and search for it online.
