I saw it this weekend.

Did you like?

If you're going to see it, see it in IMAX because the special effects are incredible.

I liked the movie; the man LOVED it. I honestly think that they tried to cram a lot into 2.5 hours and there were some scenes that weren't meant to be funny that I found hysterical.

Also, James Franco makes me drool.

Anyone know where there is an IMAX theater in Suffolk?

ETA- there is a dirty act called the spiderman.

Since when was there an emo Spider-Man?

A LOT of story and I was looking forward to seeing more of Venom, but alas, it was not to happen.

I'm so over Kirsten Dunst though!

Explain via FM so that the thread doesn't get pulled

And, yes, there needed to be MORE Venom. Though the Sandman was amazing.

We saw it on Saturday. Kevin is a K-MUNGOUS fan of the comic books and had been looking forward to this movie since the last one came out, I mean seriously, he had a count down going.

Anyway, we were disappointed. It was good, but not great. It didn't follow the storyline: Gwen Stacy is supposed to be dead at this point and Venom is only in the movie at the last battle which annoyed us. Plus Topher Grace was horrible as Eddie Brock, we kept waiting for someone to say 'dumbass'.

I too was disappointed...this was supposed to be the beginning of a great Summer movie season.

I actually liked Topher Grace and sat there the whole entire time thinking of how they will work the Gwen Stacy angle....

Is it the end of Spider-Man????

They are going to come out with a fourth film, I'm sure, after the opening weekend numbers.

Yes.

I hear they want to come out with a 4th, 5th and 6th!

I just kinda felt that this one was campy and reminiscent of the last couple of Batmans....

It's just that Eddie Brock/Venom is supposed to be a big guy, and Topher Grace isn't. And there was no reason for Gwen Stacy at this point, that whole thing with Mary Jane and the Green Goblin in the first one was supposed to be Gwen Stacy so why bring her in now?

They haven't decided if they'll do a 4th one. Tobey Maquire said if Sam Raimi directs again and it's a good script then he'll do it.

I will not see this - unless dragged. I am IO to all things that come in trilogies. I have yet to see any of the Harry Potters or LOTRs. I also have no attention span so movies over 90 minutes make me

Re: I saw Spiderman 3 last night

Tobey Mcguire's not going to turn down $20 million and a halfway decent script. At least, I don't think so.

If they make one more, they need to STOP at four.

eta: Suz, LOTR is amazing!!

Yes--they need to stop at 4...while they're ahead.

I seriously think they brought in Gwen Stacy because they want to replace Kirsten Dunst....

Harry Potter isn't a trilogy. They're coming out with the fifth movie July 13!!!!!

That's funny, I'm IO to speding $$$ at the theater to see a movie that's LESS than 90 minutes!!

They might replace Kirsten Dunst and get someone else to play Mary Jane, but they can't just replace her with Gwen Stacy!!

I think they are seriously considering replacing MJ because KiKi and Tobey don't get along apparently.

Sam Raimi is doing Evil Dead 4, so we will see if he returns for another Spidey..

When they are all out on DVD, I may rent them all and marathon it. Although that would be really really really long.

DH and I would completely agree. We both thought the first two movies were better made and had better story lines. This third installment just didn't stand up to the previous movies and left us both disappointed, but we still liked it.
