I still need help with this veil - edited with pic
I don't know if I should do the fingertip cascading or the cathedral cascading. My dress is trumpet style and it has beading on the top and all around the bottom. I'm going to be 5'5' with my heels... please help me!

i have the 2nd one and I love it cuz you can still see the detail on the back of my dress

Honestly you can go with either. I think both look really nice. If you are planning on getting married in a real big church it may be nice to go with the cathedral length. I personally am using fingertip length b/c i have lots of detail at the back of my dress and I am considering keeping the veil on all night. If you want to keep the veil on throughout your day you should go with the fingertip length and it won't get in the way.

I already have the fingertip, but I saw the cathedral and i love it too. I was thinking of doing both (is this bad) one for the church and the other for the reception. But I don't know if i can wear the cathedral because i'm petite?

I personally like the finger tip version better than the cathedral.

If it bothers you 'looking short', don't do cathedral.
I am going to be 5'5' with heels and opted out of that and doing fingertip or elbow...

Personally I like shorter veil's. Mine is short as well. I think the one you have is beautiful and I would leave it at that... With that said, YOU have to do whats right for YOU, but I would follow your instinct and your original instinct got you the fingertip one so I would stick with that! =))

I love both but FH hates cathedral. But I will be 5'5 with heels and I am VERY petite, so I think the cathedral would have been too much for me anyway. Furthermore, I have soooooo much detailing on the entire dress, including the back, so i think cathedral may have covered that up. I am doing fingertip as well.

I like the fingertip length especially if you have work on the bottom of your dress. The cathedral length is really pretty and makes a dramatic statement but, I feel it hides a lot of the dress.

I like the fingertip better-- esp b/c you said you have a lot going on on the bottom. I've never worn a cathedral length before but for some reason I would think it's a pain to wear a huge veil attached to your head the whole time lol ;)

I would go with the cathedral veil b/c if you look at the first photo, the cathedral veil goes with the mermaid gown which is a bit similar to the trumpet gown. The fingertip veil on the other hand is a lot shorter than the cathedral gown. Since you're 5'5 and you're going to be in heels, def go with the cathedral if your gown has a long train.

my dress is a chapel length. And the only beading is on the very top (all around) and the very bottom - trimed (?)

It really depends on your preference. If you feel more comfortable wearing the fingertip veil with your gown, def go for it! From my own experience being a bride, I'm only 5'1 and my gown was cathederal length, the cathederal veil def went with my gown. If I were to wear a fingertip veil, it would not had covered even half of my hair. If you're wearing your hair up, then the fingertip veil would go fine. If you're planning to leave your hair down, the cathederal veil would be a safer choice so you have enough veil to cover your hair and face.

IMHO the cathedral is very pretty and dramatic. Hopefully it detaches for the reception though! If not I might change my mind!

I'm 5'5 without heals and in my heals I am 5'8.....I got the fingertip length veil. I loved how it looked and it was alot lighter and easier to deal with then the cathedrial veil
