I swore I wouldnt be a Bridezilla but man I am so close...
Ok someone hold me back from hurting someone. My sister called me up to ask me about shoes for my nephew as he is one of the groomsmen for the wedding. I told her that the shoes were included in the cost of the rental - black patent leather shoes. She proceeds to say
'My son does not wear plastic shoes.'
To which I responded 'This is what I wanted.'
She said 'Well your BM's arent wearing the same shoes, why should the guys?'
I said 'Because the guys feet will show and the girls will not.'
So she says 'Well we will take them but I dont know (he might not wear them).
My nephew is 13. He will not end up pigeon toed or knobby kneed or have some major podiatric issues because he wore rented shoes for one day. Lest she forgets how she forced all of her BMs to wear the same brand of pantyhose to her wedding because heaven forbid the camera light cast a weird shadow on our legs (we wore cocktail dresses) if one of us wore jet black vs. barely black vs. off black.
I am not asking opinions of shoes here. I personally dont want them and I dont care what is in style or not (yeah Im cranky - so what) but with 23 days til show time and a mother in the hospital, do REALLY need to deal with this petty BS now????

I am with you 100% She's being ridiculous! Anyway, it's fairly standard for men to wear patent leather shoes with tuxedos. In fact my Fh owns a pair. Your sister is being a major PITA and you're right..you don't need it.

That was preceded by my brother complaining that I wanted his son , my ringbearer to wear an off white shirt like every other man in the BP despite the fact that FH and I are paying for the rental of the accessories.

When will they get it??!!?
IT'S YOUR DAY!!!!!!!!
Besides, I don't even think the Bridezilla title nearly applies. You;'re being prerfectly reasonable, they're trying to create problems where there shoudln;t be any!

Tell her to deal, he's a big boy!! Seriously!!
Tho this may be her way of dealing with your mom's condition right now, to lash out at everyone else and unfortunately that includes the bride-to-be.
Don't worry, it's going to be ok, breathe!!

Leslie.. Wow.. Some people, I swear. Tell her that if she dont like the shoes, she is more than welcome to buy a new pair for her son. But tell her that it has to match the rest of the GM because that is the way YOU WANT IT!
I cant believe that we are forced to deal with petty incidents like this. Lots of luck hun. You are too close to your wedding to deal with this.

I agree with this. It's almost as if they're just trying to nitpick about petty BS. Just let them know that it will not kill them to abide by your wishes for just one day out of the 365 there are this year!!!

I'm letting FH deal with this. It is HIS side of the BP and my nephew would be the ONLY one in shoes that dont match. Either they all wear different or they all wear the same - thats how I feel about it.

I totally agree with you-the guys shoes show, and even if they didn't IT DOESN'T MATTER! You are the bride and you get to make the decision. Tough Nuggies!
