I think Andrew is allergic to

Peanut butter! Andrew has had eczema for several weeks now. At first we thought it was the formula(I am supplementing as well as BF) so we changed his formula 2x to Soy then to Nutramigen(sp). We did not notice any improvement with either. So I began to modify my diet removing diary for a couple of days then adding it back. There was no change in Andrews condition. Well last night I had a PBJ sandwich for dinner (DH was working) and this morning Andrew had his typical 'eczema' rash flareup. I feel so bad because I usually have PBJ's like 3x a week (I love PBJ) and this may have been the cause of his discomfort. All my fault

oh the poor little guy!! Thankfully it's jsut a rash and his throat doesn't swell like some people do that are allergic to peanuts!!! I think peanuts may be one of the top things people are allergic to!!

It's not your fault! I think it's great that you may have been able to discover it! I know in the beginning any time I had PBJ (one of my favs) Gabriella would be a little cranky the next 12-24 hours. I try to limit it now, just incase!

He may not be allergic but just very senstive to them. I would hold off eating PB for a few weeks and see if you notice a difference long term.

Wait, if he is on Formula do you think that just by touching him he is getting a reaction? If so then I would remove ALL Nuts from your home and diet. It is not easy but I would try.
Also, ask the doctor for his/her ideas.

Sounds like an allergic reaction to me. we went through htis with my daughter and are still monitorng her intake to make sure she has NO dairy, in fact I was off of ALL dary for the first year I breastfed her. Watch your little guys bowel movements gthe pediatrtin may ack for a stool cultre to look for blood, this ususally indicates an allergy. I saw a world renown allergist in Manahattan in June for my daughter and he explained that there is no such thing as 'sensitvity', even a teeny tiny reaction means a teeny tiny allergy. Start logging everything you eat and also record your baby's behavior, bowel movements, etc.:
