i think i am being ripped..

after reading all of your quotes for photography... i am beginning to realize that i am being ripped off big time. i am paying close to 8000 for photo/video.... jeeeeeeeeez

Hmm well, what are you having in your package?

I saw a couple of photo packages that were around $3500 and were pretty basic and I also saw one or two video packages that were around 3K (these werent basic but were really great and were with high end video studios) so it may not be totally impossible, especially if your packages were more than just basic.

A lot of posts ask for inexpensive quotes so you are seeing a compilation of the lower priced people and probally prices for very basic packages. Not to say that you always have to pay the price for quality. If you are truly paying way more then you should, you may want to consider looking at others and loosing the deposit may still come out cheaper.

I'm in the same boat!! I thought so too, but I realized that there is a lot in my package, and my photog is very good...she travels all around the world. I guess it's the 1 thing I'd rather pay more for...

It does seem a bit high, but prices vary based on what you get in your package. There are so many different packages...based on what albums you choose, how many pictures are in each album, if they include thank you cards, the number or proofs you get, the number of photographers or assistants, the number of hours they spend with you, etc. Also, QUALITY and PROFESSIONALISM are big factors as well. My point is just make sure you are comparing apples to apples!

It depends on your photographer's reputation as well I think. Just our photographer is costing us 7k. His business has really blossomed over the past year or two and he has become more recognized in photojournalism contests so his prices have almost doubled. I know this bc FSIL used same photog and did not pay near as much. But oh well, what can I do?!?!

We love his work and this is his cost and we were willing to pay it because he is soo talented. We didn't even look anywhere else. Sometimes I cringe when I see how much others girls have paid but I always remember why I chose him and that he was so perfect for us. Don't stress! You picked them for a reason and they will prob. do wonderful work and you are not alone in paying a small fortune for your photographer!!!!

I depends on what your package includes-We are paying $7000 but we have 2 photographers a videographer, our album, parent albums and a lot of prints included.
