I think I am developing OCD

I think I am developing OCD

And I'm not even trying to be funny right now. The past 2 weeks I have not been able to fall asleep till after midnight (usually sleeping by 10) the reason is b/c I think about the wedding, I cant stop, I think about details that dont have to be thought about for a year. Last night it was my hair, and I spent all day today inbetween teaching getting in touch w/ Hair Genie (Jen) to book my date just incase someone wanted to get to her first. I feel like I cant get my mind on anything else. Please tell me this is happening to some of you.

Definately.. I am with you! Sometimes lie awake thinking 'Stop thinking about thinking...' I told FH last night.. he was so cute.. but I guess he doesn't understand.

I don't feel like that just when I am trying to sleep. I feel like that during the day. I feel terribly behind even though I have over a year to plan. Besides planning, I am looking to move to Long Island, buy a house and for a new job. Plenty of things to keep me up worrying at night!

Thanks. I just started feeling like this lately with my engagement party coming up and because my portfolio for my Master's is due in two weeks. I need to slow down and take a breath!

Hi Jess,
I hear you, I feel the same way. Have you tried keeping a journal? Seriously. I think part of the reason why we trash around at night with the same running thoughts is because we're afraid we might forget or overlook something (i know that's what I'M afraid of LOL). Give it a shot. Get a pretty book or even a simple Composition book and keep it by your bed and when it's time to curl up, give youself at least 5 minutes to jot down everything that's on your mind, even if they aren't coherent sentences, or just random fragments, or how much your MOH ticked you off that day, or even if it turns into a 10 page rant about how much you hate plaid and how you want it NO WHERE within a 6.5-mile radius of you on your wedding day. But at least this way you can get some of it out of your head and hopefully it'll let you sleep better. Then the next day, look at what you wrote the night before and highlight what's REALLY important that you remember, this way you can eliminate the other random miscellaneous bi-polar psychosis that comes with planning this Party of A Lifetime :)

Good luck and sleep well!

i definately hear you!! everything is wedding!! but word of caution..i read in cosmo last month that if you let wedding planning totally consume your life you are more likely to get depressed after the weddding is over

Wow, that's interesting. I guess nothing big to look forward to and since your time was consumed by everything wedding, now you have more time on your hands are are bored.

I talk about it at work, every night to my mom over the phone, with FH when he gets home from work, in emails, on this site! and I dream about it!!! AHHHHH, I'm just worried all this planning and it will be a letdown like no one will come or someone will fight or more than ten people will vomit.... ten people vomitting from partying is ok--- eleven is pushing it! sheesh
