how many months before the wedding are you sending out invites?

I am sending mine out in the second week of December so the invites do not have to compete with Christmas cards. The ETA of the finsished hand calligraphy is December 8. Needless to say, FH and I will be having oh so much fun with assembly!

2-3 months prior is average.

I'm sending mine out end of January / beginning of February with a response date of March 11th for an April 30th wedding.

(I don't want the invites to compete with Valentine's Day stuff)

I went to the invitation store the other day..the lady told me i should send them out the week after mothers day..my wedding is the 2nd week in august...i think thats too early IMO, but she might be right-people go away on vacation in the summer, but I AM sending out save the dates soon-as soon as i take my E pics...

I think I most specially can help you on this...

I'm sending them out January 15th with the new postage rate. My RSVP is Feb. 25th, giving them six weeks to get them back. Then, of course we will have a four week buffer till March 25th.

i just heard about the new postage thing
i was going to send mine out middle of december but after i heard about the new stamps im going to send them out right after new year

sorry, just saw this now. i agree with you. i feel like sending them out with the new postage rate just cause i have so many people across the country that i wouldn't want it to get caught in that 'transition' time!
