So, i am having a black tie wedding and i have 8 bridesmaids and i was looking for something that was elegant AND something that would fit a variety of different body shapes. i didnt want something too tight through the hips bc it might make some BMs look bigger than they are.
the dress is Vera Wang and it would come in BLACK (I hate this color and it is hard to imagine what the dress would look like in black!)
thoughts?

oh thank you so much! that makes me feel so much better. i loved so many dresses but i wanted to find one that really fit all types of bodies. and, i LOVE black! i think it looks so formal!

im going to have black dresses as well.. i just havent been able to find 'nonbridesmaidish' ones - but you did a great job with this one! i love it !!! where did ya get them?

I got it at the Vera Wang flagship store in NYC - with a 20% discount it came to $250. i think they give discounts if you say you could get it someplace else for less (like bloomies or something). they had a lot of nice dresses
i initially wanted something tight and sleek, but it is so hard to try to find a dress that looks good on 8 different body types!

oh, and they also have really nice ones at Priscilla of Boston in Roslyn as well. there is also a bridesmaid store on top of the wedding salon in Manhasset which has a TON of dresses also!

yes i have been to both the priscilla and wedding salon
wedding salon is where i got my dress.. the bridesmaids are nice upstairs however they dont do the alterations!
