I think I got screwed over!!! Long... but please help!

OK a friend at work had recommended a make-up girl who did her make-up for her wedding....in which was done beautifully...

I called her she was sweet and very resonably priced... I explained how I wanted my make-up done for my e-party and that it would be a great day to schedule a trial... so we did! She told me to call her back a week b4 the e-party and give her directions and so forth... In which would be today...

I call her a little while ago and she begins to tell me how she is no longer available on the date of my wedding for her husband and planned a surprise vacation for her... so if this was going to be a trial it no longer could because she obviously couldnt do it for my wedding...

I proceed to tell her..well its to late now, I dont have enough time to book another artist considering the party is a weeks from today and that I would still like to use her next weekend...well she was like 'well right now Im at work so Ill have to call you back'

I could be wrong but I have a feeling I wont be hearing from her! Now she didnt have a special trial price...it was 35$ no matter what..I also cant imagine her husband has a trip planned for the end of 06' some air flights dont even have info for that far in advance....

SO then I was thinking maybe she thinks my wedding is this year....and this could all be solved... I called her back...of course she didnt answer now, and left her message, saying that I wanted to confirm that she did have the correct date of my wedding and that I still want her next weekend...

DOes anyone have advice or can recommend someone to me on such short notice.... I really wanted my make-up done for the party...Help!

Even if she is 'confused' I would not use her - she sounds unreliable.

I would go with another makeup artist. Have you tried calling all the LIW vendors? I can personally vouch for the work of Jillian at Gorgeous Faces.

I think there is a makeup artist who does free trials - some girls on the 05 board have booked her - I can't remember the name.

Good Luck - worst case scenario is that you have a makeup artist at a counter do something for you...

Don't use her. It's not too late. Try to make some calls and see if you can get one for next week.

Worse comes to worse their is a stylists at my hair salon who does makeup for a lot of modeling shows. You might be able to book him for a trial even if it's just for your e-party.

I had so much trouble finding a makeup artist. My ceremony was in NJ, so I was looking for a person in NJ. Let me just tell you, I found SO MANY of these people to be COMPLETE FLAKES!!! Poor follow up, stupid scheduling mistakes. It was ridiculous!

I was lucky that I was able to reconnect with someone whom a family member had used 5 years prior.

Im getting my hair done @ my salon and I know they do make-up there as well...

A friend of mine who use to work there named 2 girls she thought would be great...

one is avaiable at 2 and the other not at all....

the receptionist recommended someone else who could do my make-up after my hair... My apt is @ 230 and I have ALOT of hair so its goona be at least an hour...

what do you think??? Go with the 2 o'clock girl...my party is 7-11... ( I just cant see it lasting that long)

or the other girl... someone also suggested going to the mac counter at the mall...

this is another good reason to go with vendors from this site. They know there will be 'hell' to pay with a bad review if they screw you over.
