Well, unless I knew exactly what you're doing it's hard to give any specific tips. But what I CAN say is that if you've hit a plateau, you need to re-evaluate your diet and workouts. If you've been eating the same # of calories for a while, try dropping about 200 calories a day and up your cardio. That should most definately work.

And go buy a fitness magazine for inspiration - try one of the workouts you see to do something different.

Good luck Shamma!

I know how you feel. I have been at that plateau for about 2 months. I cant seem to shake it. I have been trying to spice up my days by eating different foods, trying different work outs and nothing.

But the one thing i learned, dont give up. You'll break that plateau but you just cant give up. dont get discouraged. dont worry.

Re: I THINK I HAVE HIT A PLATEAU

I had hit a plateau for a long time and wanted to make a change. I wasnt overweight but just wanted to tone up and trim down in those difficult to target areas. I was working out but I think my body got really used to my routine.

I started running 4 miles 3-4 days a week and bike riding or eliptical machine another day...I also do weight training or resistance training 2x a week and boy do I see a difference. I eat exactly the same as I did but the running brought me down 2 sizes...none of my work pants or jeans fit me anymore...and this is after 2 months. I only lost about 5 pounds but the inches i lost really show.

I am now hooked...and love what this new exercise regimn has done for my body. Good luck!

Re: I THINK I HAVE HIT A PLATEAU

If you are always eating the same things everyday day in and day out then try to add some new foods( that will still go along with what ever plan you are doing) and change things around.
For example if you always have chicken for dinner try to have some fish one night and chicken the next. Or if you always have a salad with dinner try to have that salad( maybe try a new combo of veggies in your salad) at lunch instead.
Changing your exercise routine will help too. If you always do 30 min on treadmill try an exercise class instead for 30 mins.
Hope this helps!!! Good Luck!!

Re: I THINK I HAVE HIT A PLATEAU

I know what I need to do, but I am so not disciplined with my eating, I miss meals, I eat too much bread and not enough variety. I am going to start trying to plan my meals. I have already changed up my w/o starting this week, so I will let you ladies know how I am doing. Thanks for all your input

shamma...I am with you...I have been at the same weight for about 6 weeks...(better than gaining) but I know I have been eating too many sweets...

try to cut down (not out) your bread...just that could help...and switch to 100 % whole wheat...

Re: I THINK I HAVE HIT A PLATEAU

Erica, I am going to try, I need to be more strict with my eating. I go to the gyms in the evenings and after I am usually not hungry so I only end up eating 2 meals a day
