I think I know the answer but...

ok now before I get 'yelled' at -- I am pretty sure I know I shouldn't (and probably won't but had to ask
We start TTC this week and are going away for 10 days to Aruba so I have started to go tanning---
What does everyone know/think? is it safe?
My biggest problem isn't Aruba but when I get back-- I am in a wedding in June and I know that my strap lines are going to be horrible so am also looking into self tanners but standing in a tanning booth is sooooooo much easier than worrying about turning orange

What do you ladies think?
and yes I will ask the dr when the time comes
Thanks

I have never heard that tanning while TTC is bad. Maybe someone else knows more about this.

My friends doctor said not to tan, mine said it's fine in small doses. I guess it depends on who you ask.

my GF's doctor said yes to tanning booths (in small doses), but no to self-tanners - too many chemicals that penetrate the skin. to put it in perspective, he also told her no hair highlights - same reason.

Honestly, the only thing that jumped to my mind is the whole heat issue. I remember when I was PG that the doctor told me to be careful during the warmer weather months to not get too heated for any reason. Just something the bear in mind, I guess.

That is sooo funny Karen. I was talking to my hairstylist about this & her doc told her she could get acrylics on her nails & do all her highlighting just as she normally does!

My doctor said said I can highlight but not single process.

Re: I think I know the answer but...

My MW said only natural hair color products, no chemicals.

I think you have to use common sense. Do you feel comfortable with the possible risks/side effects? All doctors/MW will give you their opinions but in the end it is up to you. My MW wants me to only eat organic foods. That is just not going to fit in with my lifestyle at all. I am not a junk food junkie, but my Twizzlers are important and do not come in organic form You need to take in all of the advise and then make a decision.
