I sent a pic of the cake I wanted re-created and she explained she didn't 'copy' cakes. (Understandable, since she's an artist in her own right.) Unfortunately, the original creator of the cake I want is out in LA. So, it looks like I'll stick with my intended baker.
What's the heck is that photo from?

Shamma, no she didn't say it. I just think I did, based on her 'copy' reference. My FH said 'Are you using her? Then who cares!?!'

So what if you went to her with a cake in mind, only her designs/creation will she make?? what about the bride's creation...oh well her loss

Shamma, exactly! I want the cake that I WANT! She told me she could do something similar, but with more cake showing. In my opinion, although I'm sure it would be beautiful, it wouldn't have the same effect that I was looking for and for her price, I better get what I want.
Needless to say, I'm going with a baker who can recreate it (but yet still does her own 'works of art') for less dough! (no pun intended!)
