let me get this straight -- you gave YOUR church his originals and they lost them?

omg -- did you make a copy? Sounds like a dumb question but maybe they only accept originals but you could use the copy to prove it existed.

Is it a catholic church? Can you take it up with the diocese?

FH is Christian, his church was a revival center. his parents didnt believe that he understood baptism since he was an infant so he is dedicated instead. The church closed, it does not have a diocese or anything. any paperwork was given to the family. The church has the original....didnt think we needed another copy and were told wed get it back.....i cant believe it

They do that in the pentecostal faith too -- it's not a baptism but a presentation to the church. They bless the child and that's pretty much it.

I hate to be a downer...but incase all the other options are unavailable...how do you feel about getting wed by a non-denomiational officiant?
I know it's a dream of most to be married in a chruch, but if you can't do you have a back up?
I sincerely hope you can find a solution to this issue........

i am going through that process it takes almost a year to get baptised

is it that you have to be married in a catholic church? because there are also non-denominational churches that will marry you
