i think i want a new RH- kinda Vent

For the past month or two I've really been regretting booking my RH. I can't say where it is because there are lurkers about.
I just don't know what to do. FH and I looked at so many halls, and there was one I LOVED, but they wouldn't come down in price. Now we already put the deposit on our hall and my father has started making payments, and I don't want to lose all that money, and I know I can't tell FH I want a different hall, it will just start a fight.
But thinking back to my brothers wedding and his brothers weddings, I just don't think ours will compare. I think the hall will be too small, the room is huge and beautiful, but the rest of the hall is small, there is no place outside to do pictures and it seems a lot of you use my hall for other parties (ie, engagement, showers, birthday, etc.) I don't know, but like I think that because there are other types of parties that it brings down the 'class' of wedding. Does that make sense?
There is no 'super fancy' meals, its pretty basic (which we do like because our guests will know what they are ordering), but at the same time I do want something a little fancier. We are getting a HUGE amount of food, but I just don't think it's fancy enough.
I wish there was a way for me to find another RH, for the same day and same price and we could get all our money back and FH won't get upset...

Let me address a few things. First, the size of your hall. You say that the room itself is huge. Imo, that's one of things that matters the most. People are going to be in there 99% of the time and won't even notice the rest of the hall.
Second, I know that it's super hard but try not to compare your wedding to others that you have been to, esp. family. I find myself doing it every single weekend at work but I have to keep in mind that everyone is different (tastes, budget etc).
If there isn't a place to take pictures outside maybe you could go somewhere in between the ceremony and reception to take them. I also wouldn't worry about having other parties held at your hall. I know for a FACT that the most beautiful and lavish places still hold 'reg' parties such as mitzvah's, sweet 16's, formals, proms, communions etc. Don't think for a minute that it brings down class of your hall. I've worked parties that were held at exclusive halls in the city that were horrible and i've worked parties at Holiday inn Ballrooms that were awesome. The RH is of course important but it's what you make of it. The RH doesn't make the party. The party makes the RH.

My sister's friend just had her swet 16 at a hall I couldn't afford for my wedding. Her invites were expensive, heavy paper with letterpress, she used the make-up artist I am interested in for her and all her friends. Did I mention this is a swet 16? It made me feel badly for about 5 seconds. People really go above and beyond the norm for events like that lately so I wouldn't compare. I had second thoughts about my hall, too. In the beginning, outdoor space was a big issue for me and we all no JT has zero outdoor space. But your wedding is what YOU make it. The location is really second rate to the people and atmosphere of your wedding. Just enjoy the fact that you are going to marry your honey and your happiness will shine through.

As for taking pics outdoors, why not stop at a second location? I personally don't have time to do this so we'll be doing a day after photo session at another location! Good luck and don't worry! This is absolutely normal!

I feel a little better, but I'm still stressing our CH room is so small, well at least thats how I feel and I don't know.. I just feel like if I would have PUSHED I could have gotten the hall I REALLY wanted!

and we have quite a bit of time between the church and reception, so we can go pretty much anywhere we want, but I would have liked to do some family pictures at the hall.
