I think I was pickpocketed during lunch! UPDATED!!!!!!

I think I was pickpocketed during lunch! UPDATED!!!!!!

I went out for a walk like I've been doing recently with one of my BM that works near me. We went to Central Park. I had my camera in one jacket pocket, my wallet and cellphone in the other.

I just got back to the office and my wallet and cellphone are gone I just spoke to her and she doesn't remember even seeing either. I don't know what to do. I'm on hold with the bank to cancel my card, gotta call my credit card company also.

I AM SO UPSET!!!!! I keep wondering if I was pickpocketed or if they somehow fell out (but how would we not hear a big ol wallet and cell phone fall? We always walk on the concrete paths.

UPDATE: That one spot I mentioned where I stopped and put my jacket over the railing??? I just went back there and FOUND MY WALLET AND PHONE! No one would have ever found them if they didn't know they were there - it was about 8 inches of bushes and I just stuck my hand around and found my wallet! My FH was calling my cell phone so I heard it vibrating and luckily found that too - never would have found it otherwise.

So thankfully I wasn't pickpocketed - good thing I went back to the park to doublecheck!!!

Too bad I already cancelled my bank card. Oh well, no problem. I should be getting a new one this week.

That really stinks. People stink. It will be OK though...at least you realized it soon enough.

OMG yesenia i'm soooo sorry!! where in CP did you walk? maybe it fell on the lawn? did you lay down on the grass somewhere? can you retrace your steps? if you want me to check anywhere let me know it's literally right across the street from my job...i'm sorry!!!

I think I'm going to go back to the park and look around. It's not likely I'll find anything but there was one spot where I sat on a railing and put my jacket over the railing. Maybe they fell out there??? But weird that nothing else from my pockets fell out. I'm so upset!

Thanks Lupita! We walked in through 59th and walked near the boathouse, bow bridge and the main path. We only walk on the paths (not on the green) so I just don't know... I'm going back to the park to check now. :(

So sorry Yesenia, maybe someone will find it and do the right thing. I know it might be wishful thinking but I'd like to believe that there are decent people left in this world. In the mean time definitely make those calls and cancel everything.
