So last night I got a phone call from a bridal center in Queens (we later found out they also have a locatin in Lynbrook) that said I either entered my name online or at one of their booths at an expo and my name was pulled and I won an engagement pic with my FH, vouchers for 2 Yankees tix, and a 4 day 3 night vacation. We only have to go to the center to meet with a coordinator to set up the vacation part of the prize. I asked if by accepting the prize am I going to be obligated to use their services and the woman said no. We set up the appt. because what do we have to lose... should I be skeptical and not get my hopes up?? I wish I could remember the name of the place, but all I know is that they have a website, their located in Queens & in Lynbrook and their Queens address is Far Rockaway Blvd. Let me know what ya'll think. TIA!

I thought this was going to be a tish different because they were so specific with what the prize was and I specificly asked if I had any obligation to them and they said no. G0d D@mit! figures though

Remember no one gives anything away for nothing. They just want to get you there to sell their sales pitch........

I'm always wary of things like that. Unless I specifically entered it on my own, then I go with my instincts.

Yes...I got that call two times!!! I wasn't even at the expo they said I entered it at. It was the one at the Mariott in Uniondale.

Well... did you actually enter something?
If not, I'd fear it was a scam.

That's sooo funny. I just wrote a post yesturday about it. I got called from Prestige Wedding in ozone park last night (2nd time) saying i won the same exact thing. I even made an appt to meet with them. I cancelled it today cause someone else said they got the same call.

It's a scam, I've actually won both!
The $300 one you're supposed to use towards a treatment package (laser zapping, hair removal, microderm). When I went in, the receptionist saw that I obviously 1) don't tan, so i don't have sunspots, nor do I have any tatoos, so that nixed tha zapping, 2) am not that hairy of a person, nixing the hair zapping, and 3) am relatively young w/ little wrinkles, nixing the microderm (moisturize, ladies!). I also told her I have sensitive skin, which is why I'm very very careful of what I put on it, and don't tan. Since she couldn't sell me on anything, I ended up getting 2 free microderm treatments, which honestly didn't do anything except leave sand on my face which I had a tough time washing off later.
My FI at the time (now Husband... married 10/7/06!!) went to Prestige b/c it sounded like such a good deal. Vacation, free E-shots, etc. We had to sit with the sales guy first, who claimed he wanted to 'get a feel of his clients before taking E-shots'. Turns out, you have to meet with him, and then come back to take E-shots, then come back again to get the 'Free' picture, making it 3 times you go to their office. So, we sat down with this guy who showed us amateur looking pictures with tacky borders (think Bar Mitzvah posters here, ladies). Again, it would be appropriate for, say, a Sweet 16, not for a wedding IMHO. My FI and I immediately cringed at the site of the borders, where the salesguy said 'we could choose from others' (like that was supposed to make it more appealing??) Their only claim to fame was that they did the photos for some guy on the Sopronos (the dude from Celebrity Fit Club).
