I think I'm being sexually harassed at work! any lawyers?
I JUST started a new job this week and my boss is sooo inappropriate. For starters, he runs his hand down my shoulder several times a day. He was looking through a day planner and in plain view I noticed a print out of a pornographic image. He mentions how he likes to go the southern office b/c they have a hot receptionist, and everyone in the office is allowed to wear jeans on Friday but yesterday he said I couldn't. When I came to work in a suit, he said 'you look so nice and everyone else looks like sh*t'. The kicker is, he said 'i'm so glad I hired you. It's like love!' He creeps me out and wants me to go on a biz trip w/ him in a couple of weeks. Am I wrong or do I have a right to feel this way????

yeah we had lawyers come in and do a whole thing at work about what is sexual harassment or different types of harassment. Even little things are considered sexual harassment, like others talking about sex around you and making you feel uncomfortable. Talking about how you look also another thing, and even any pornographic images

Not so far. There is one other female in the group and she is late 40's.

do you think they'll fire me?? My FH is sooo pissed. He wants me to quit on Monday, but they are paying for my time off for the HM, and I kind of wanted to stick it out.

Under the definitions this classifies as clear cut sexual harassment. If you have an HR department, go to them. If not, can you go to your boss' supervisor. It sounds like you are about to be facing an even more awkward period. But...he can't get away with this sh*t. Please advocate for your right to a safe and non-intimidating work environment. I'm sorry that you have to deal with this now, but hopefully you will become a stronger person because of it.

well theyre not supposed to fire you if you are getting harassed. If they do then you can bring action against them for firing you for complaining. But also think about the fact that he is your boss and you filed a complaint...maybe quitting is best if he is making you feel that uncomfortable. Other jobs would give you paid vacation. I say take the weekend to really think about this and figure out what you'll do.

Let me just tell you - I got skeeved reading that.
That is definitely sexual harrassment. . .without a doubt. I would go to human resources for sure. They can't take any action against you or you'll be able to take action against them.
I feel bad for you, I know you were excited about getting a new job. Not to mention the Finance market ***** right now, so I can understand your hesitation. . .
Its not worth it to stay IMO. . .

that's definetly not kosher.. don't let it slide.. maybe you can speak to HR?? is it a large company? maybe a union rep?
make sure you inform people about this.. i'm sure there are others.. and watch out.. if you do end up going with him to the business trip.. do not get a room on the same floor as him.. don't let your glass of water/wine/juice leave your sight..
have friend on standby.. just so that you can get out of awkward situations like if the convo is not going anywhere or it gets uncomfortable..
