I just tried on my weding dress again and there is no way it is going to fit. It doesn't matter if I lose all of my stomach, it's just not gonna fit over my breasts.
I don't know what to do. Should I buy a new one and count the first dress as a loss?

Re: I think I'm going to cry.
If they wont let you exchange, if they cant alter it, buy a new one and sell that one on Ebay. Are they tags still on it... I noticed a lot of beautiful dresses on ebay. Good Luck hun!

Re: I think I'm going to cry.
I'm so sorry it won't fit .
You have a few options. You can try to alter it (maybe have a small triangle of fabric put in the front, at the extreme.) A good seamstress can do wonders. Also, sometimes the breasts are bigger just bc it's a specific time of the month, so you may have a chance at loosing weight.
If nothing can be done, you can sell this dress and buy a new one. You'd have to do it fast though since your wedding is close.
However, you have such an amazing wedding budget that even with the cost of the 2nd dress you'll still be spending less than most brides in LI! Think of it as a nice spurge that you are allowed!

I'm sorry! If the place can't alter it to fit you they should take it back and give you store credit toward a new dress.
Good Luck!

Re: I think I'm going to cry.
When was the last time it fit? Did it fit when you picked it up? If not, maybe they ordered you the wrong size! If it did fit when you picked it up, then it can definitely fit you again! Take a step back and try and figure out how this could have happened. There's got to be a solution!

Re: I think I'm going to cry.
ok..I am going to relax.
I have a fitting on the 29th of this month with a lady who is supposed to be fabulous (the ladies on theknot swear by her). I will see what she says. That is 17 days away. In the meantime I will try to lose as much weight as humanly possible.
This is my own fault. I tried on a 10 at the salon and it was too small but I figured I would lose the extra 10 pounds of weight. But now I have gained another 50 pounds on top of that and am wearing a 16. UGH!
I just need to lose enough weight so that the tailor is able to fix it in the back. Dear God, that is all I need. I just need her to be able to make it so that the corset will close. Right now, it's just way too small.

They can do amazing things to make dresses fit...I wouldn't worry until after your trial.

You can sell your Maggie for probably close to the price - they are so popular.
What did your seamstress say?

Re: I think I'm going to cry.
Well, I can always turn to Jcrew.
I figure it's only $250. Maybe I can put a full crinoline skirt in it and make it a-line.

Re: I think I'm going to cry.
Irene, do not stress!! Just watch your eating and maybe step up the exercising. At the same time, maybe you can purchase some extra fabric from Maggie and the seamstress can use that to let out the dress if need be. Not to worry, you will still make a perfect bride!!

Re: I think I'm going to cry.
If you are 60lbs overweight for the size you ordered I would cut my losses and run out and buy another dress. Good luck.
