I think I'm really too emotional right now and just keep getting mad at everyone...
Would you get annoyed by this?
I emailed my whole family a Word Document of how we're going to do the rehearsal run-through at the restaurant where we're having the rehearsal dinner because we're getting married at the place, not a Church or Temple...
NO ONE wrote back except 1 sister saying only 'looks good!'... and no one else ever writes back to these emails.
Then finally last night my mom emailed me asking, 'Are we doing any kind of a 'receiving line?' they are so formal --- '
And I got really annoyed because the way she phrased it, I'd feel stupid being like, 'Um, well I kinda wanted to do a receiving line...'
Like - I'M GETTING MARRIED PEOPLEEE ITS OKAY TO BE FORMAL EVERRRRRR. They know I like doing things formally... and they aren't formal people at ALL.
ugh... sorry!! Anyone else feeling like they're fed up with the close friends and family who comment about little details at the wedding that you MAY want and now feel like you can't say???

I would just explain to your mom to keep her opinions to herself...explain that you are emotional because wedding planning is stressful and you would appreciate it if she kept those things to herself because you want to have some formal things in your wedding..

I totally know what you mean -- it is REALLY stressful planning a wedding, and you're working so so hard because you want everything to be perfect, not only for yourself but for everyone else. And you just don't get the support you feel like you should get from the people closest to you. It's completely normal to get emotional about that!!!!
As far as your mom's comment goes, I'd just write back to her something like 'Yup, we're doing a receiving line and it's gonna be fantastic! That way you'll have time to eat during the CH since you'll have already greeted everyone!' -- and tell her how you hope she's proud that her daughter is always thinking.
My MIL makes comments like that all the time. I've learned to just at her...
If you need anything else, of course let us know! That's what we're here for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah but I just ignore them. I am going to do it my way becuase its my day and I am not letting them ruin it for me.
Just do what you want and what makes you happy!! Don't pay anyone any attention.
So what if someone thinks its too formal and 'stupid', then they can wait outside until its over.

Thanks girls... it's just hard because my twin sister just broke up with her boyfriend in February of 6 years (he's the one that introduced FH and I in 2003) and she barely wants to talk about the wedding, my older sister just bought a new house with her husband, etc... and I just feel like no one wants to even listen much less help me... I'm doing it all myself, which is fine because it's my wedding, but it frusterates me so much when they question everything I'm doing... it's like, DO IT YOURSELF THAN! OR AT LEAST HELP ME PAY FOR IT ALL!

Everyone will give their opinions and unwarranted advice. its annoying and frustrating, but i guess in some way they're trying to help out.
Anything i hear, its kinda just went in one ear and out the other, because either way, im going to do what me and FH want.

i hear you all the way...i swear this past week was the worst by far for me..i knew all this smooth sailing would not last
these r the complaints i heard this past weekend(i had 2 parties to go to so i saw the whole bp)
1.makup.did u get ripped off?sounds like alot of money?
2.switch ur bach party so its more convient for us
3.im not two sure bout the color of my dress(nw?now u tell me?
as it gets closer i have more of the urg to punch everyone..its like they save it all for the end
sorry for my ramble.....the emai...dont even worry...they all read it and dont undertand the need to respond..they wll give u come on carly i know what to do etc etc
and if u want the reciving line..do it!!!! dont worry bout what anyone says..even ur mom
