I think it is going to rain this weekend ...

Things are coming off my registry pretty regularly -- there isn't much left exceot for towels and small things (oh, and my POTS AND PANS but I think those will be bought with gift cards ... ) ....

AND I DO NOT HAVE A DRESS YET!!!!

I bought one I loved 2 weeks ago at dress barn, had the zipper replaced because the original was broken, and now have decided it's just ok. If I had brown shoes to wear with it, I would probably keep it. But I have looked high and low and can't find any strappy brown heels that would look nice with it. I found strappy black heels so I bought them, to wear with a dress I had at home that I forgot about, but now I think that dress is a little too slinky for my shower. I wanted an a-line cotton thing, simple and summery and cute, not sexy

SO NOW, I need to go shopping AGAIN for a dress that will match the shoes (which are slightly too big but I bought them after going to 8 stores looking for black shoes as they were the only things I could find, so I need to buy the non-slip strips that attach to the straps to make them stay put )! I am going at lunchtime to marshall's and kohls in melville since they are right next door to each other, and possibly to old navy if I have time. If I find nothing there, it's off to target in commack after work tomorrow.

I wish I could just buy something online but I think the shower's sat or sun and I don't have time for shipping, and even if I did, I'm a try-it-on kinda person.

So frustrating - but I am looking forward to the shower so I can't complain too much!

i have a feeling my shower is this weekend too. my mom knows i have an idea, but my sister doesn't. the worst part is that i know they are having a difficult time coming up with a way to get me there and my mom keeps saying things about it and giving hints away! i keep telling her to STOP, but i know she just can't help herself! lol...it's hard keeping secrets when i live in the house. what pisses me off is that i can think of 2 ways to get me there, but for some reason no one else did! oh well...i will be surprised and enjoy myself just the same!!

Good luck finding a dress! You make me tired just reading all the running around you did so far. I need a dress still too, although I don't think my shower is anytime soon thankfully.

I had the same issue finding shoes last week for the dresses I bought in Dress Barn. I finally bought a pair that don't exactly match but I don't care anymore.

I am looking for chocolate brown shoes that are NOT wedges and not insanely high heels. I am tall and don't want to be like 6 foot in the heels I am looking for a simple brown strappy sandal with a 2-3' heel and I can't find it! (with an ankle strap)

I think finding a new dress to match the black shoes that do not fit would be easier so that is what i plan to do today at lunch. I haven't been to DSW shoes yet, so if the dress shopping is unfruitful, I may go to DSW some day.

I think the shower's sunday - I got an invite to my aunt and uncle's surprise 40th wedding anniversary party, but the closer it gets, the more I think it's a fake party. things my mom says just make me think it's fake. but it could be saturday - no one has asked me to do anything yet but my FILs are coming into town today, so I could see her asking me on Thurs or Fri to go to lunch with her on Saturday - so I really need to be prepared by Friday night!

I will look around and see if I find anything and let you know. I have had my dress (wore it my parent's 35th anniversary party last year and never got to wear it again so i figured why not). My mother has it in her car but now that she slipped i think i will take it out so I don't have to waste time changing!

So i got a shower dress! i went to ann taylor loft and got this dress in all black, after trying on tons of things at marshalls, old navy, and looking in a ton of other stores. for some reason their website only has this one, which i tried on too and thought was cute, but the black i thought was more flattering and more useful in the future! I figured I can jazz it up with a big chunky necklace and it will look very cute. AND, I can wear it to the event that I *think* is my shower and it won't look like I am alll dolled up, expecting it. SO happy it's done with!

I have an awesome yellow crepe-like dress that I bought from Macy's to wear to my RD if you want to borrow it - along with really cute white patent-like wedges...

The dress is an a-line... It's really, really cute.

I have cute turquoise accessories too - a necklace and bracelet.
