I think it will shower this weekend...

So my mom just came in my room and said that my aunt is having a BBQ this weekend. She was thinking of bringing a ceasar salad(1st of all I don't eat that so I don't know why she picked it) so I asked for greek... needless to say she is now making both. Why do we need both for a small 5 person BBQ?

This is very last minute to spring this on me and it's the only weekend left that isn't booked with wedding plans.


Here is my problem...
I got into a huge fight yesterday with my mother and sister(MOH) bc they forgot about my 1st dress fitting. (ps- I reminded them that morning!!!) I was walking out the door to go alone and my brothers girlfriend(who I never really got along with) went with me to give a second opinion. I am still pis*ed so I really don't want to celebrate, especially with them -not now!

It wouldn't make me so mad if they couldn't make it but I drives me nuts that they don't think they did anything wrong. Does anyone else have to deal with this??

I know what you mean when your mom or sister isn't as excited about something wedding related, but I think that as brides we kinda forget that the people closest to us are planning and doing things just for us behind the scenes that we don't even know about, i.e. the shower, and that once that is over with we will realize all the work that went into it and appreciate them!
by the way, I found out my shower is this weekend too!

they might have been sidetracked---or maybe didn't realize how important it was to you. like the PP said--we forget that every detail isn't as important to others as it is to us.

just chalk it up to forgetfulness and be grateful they are doing the shower for you

i had to go to my first fitting alone too cause it was the same weekend as my 'surprise shower'. (i figured it out a few weeks before ssshhhh) but i knew even though they weren't there for fitting they were plannin something special for me.

i'm sorry , i def understand BUT maybe they didnt attend because it was the only way they could do some final 'bridal shower' things that they had to do. maybe your bors g/f went with you because they needed you out of the house

Don't hold a grudge now, yeah they made you mad, but down the road you'll probably be mad at yourself for not enjoying it or feeling down because of what happened.and like what usually happens with these fights, you make up and its over in a couple of days.
