I think my bridal shower is this weekend!!

Help! I overheard my sis-in law talking to my future MIL about my bridal shower this weekend! How am I supposed to act surprised if it is???? As far as i know I have no plans this weekend, nobody has asked me to do anything. Maybe she knew I was there and just wanted to throw me off?. I'm not getting married until October, I would think this might be a little early. Oh well wish me luck!

I have the same problem; last week I was told by my fiance's brother by accident when and where my bridal shower is (he was under the impression that girls knew this information and that it wasn't a surprise). I was kind of upset when he told me since I really did want it to be a surprise. I know my mother will be so upset if she knew that I know about it, but I am trying to think of how I could fein surprise really well. That happened to my friend as well. it was actually my fiance who told her to have a good time at her shower the following week - DUH! I almost couldnt believe my own ears! He said he thought everyone knew even the bride.

I cant believe it, me too! My sister in law and fiance were hudeling a lot last weekend. Then my father 'announced' that he wants us all to go out to dinner this Sunday which is not too unusual, it was the way he said it almost a comand rather than an invitation. Ill keep you posted.

Surprise Showers

I live in Atlanta (which I am sure most of you know by now) and they have never heard of Shower's being a surprise. I think that is so weird!! Instead they have 5-10 showers all with different themes. They will have a kitchen shower-where all the guests bring presents associated with the kitchen....lingerie showers, bedroom showers....you name it they have it! My manager said she is going to throw me one down here and now she wants me to pick a theme....any ideas??? I want something fun- the shower will be small since most of my friends so not live here....any suggestions would be great!! My shower on LI- I know about b/c I have to fly up there for it....I kinda always thought it would be a surprise- that makes it more fun :) Good luck and have a great time!

No surprises in the South

it might be a Southern thing. In Florida, the 6 showers I have been to the bride planned the whole thing.

Act Suprised - Mine was last weekend

I knew I was having it, but I acted suprised. You need to. Your bridesmaids, your fi, your family all tried hard to suprise you. Don't tell any of them you know. I know I'm having another shower and I don't know a thing about it yet. I'm the type of person that likes to know everything.

Enjoy it...I am not having one.

My fiance and I are in the process of combining our two households into one and we have so much stuff we need to have a yard sale to get rid of it all. There is really nothing that we need and since I had a shower before my first wedding, I told my family not to do it this time around. I was surprised the first time around and I was so glad that I didn't know. When I have hosted showers, whether wedding or baby, a lot of the fun for me has been in surprising the guest of honor. If anyone every knew they didn't let on and I got to have my fun too!!!
