FH and I will go to the jeweler on Saturday just so they can check it and tighten it if needed. At least we'll get to look at wedding bands while we're there.
Do jewelers generally tighten the prongs while you watch, or do they take it in the back? I just want to know what to expect...
UPDATE: I went to the jeweler today, and it was a little loose, so they tightened it right there. I'm so happy! I also tried on some wedding bands, and found one that I love.

At my jewelers they checked my prongs in front of me. I mean they were behind a machine but they didn't go in the back. HTH!!!

We have a personal relationship with our jewler. He takes it to the work table but they are all in plain view from the counter. It's a tiny shop. I had mine tightened twice because I was contstantly touching it and checking it. And I wore it all the time. Since the second time, I take it off for heavy yard work and take it off for bed and it's been perfect ever since.

FYI-
do not wear the ring until you get it fixed. The same thing happened to me and the jeweler informed me that if the diamond is shaking around in the setting it has the potential to implode ( scary huh). I also had to leave my ring over night with the jeweler...but it comes back fixed and all shiny like new.

It's actually not really shaking. I'm not sure if it's loose or if I'm just crazy. So that is why I want to go to the jeweler just to be sure. It just doesn't feel as tight before, but it doesn't feel really loose. Does that make sense? But thanks for the tip.

That does...touch the top and pat down on it. You will hear it or feel it slighlty jiggle...
It has something to do with it settling into the setting..I was so sad when it happened even though I had it back the next day.

My diamond was loose and I got it tightened but it was a pain. I have a square cut and the jeweler said they are the hardest to tighten because they can chip the corners. I also think they are the easiest to loosen because they only have 4 prongs. I am not totally sure though and I am neurotic about the loosening again that I might be that crazy and have the head replaced. I know I'm nuts.

YOU ARE NOT NUTS!!!!! I have a Princess cut & mine actually FELL OUT at work!!!!! I am a nurse & I found it on a patients bed. I was FREAKING OUT until I found it and now I am totally paranoid about it falling out again.
