No kidding... I really do. I have heard it can happen from stress. I mean thank god I have no blad spots or anything it is just contantly shedding. Also when I wash it I am loosing WAYYY more hair than I used too.
I am going to start using Nioxin treatments to help but anyone else have other remedies. Vitamins? Supplements? Anything?

Re: I think my hair is falling out
my mom gets this olive oil stuff (it's like a creme) and swears by it ... she also used to put raw egg in her hair and said that helped a ton ... kind of gross, i know ... but she did it (i swear!)

You should have some routine bloodwork done - sometimes hair loss can be attributed to wonky thyroid levels. Nothing to worry about but it would be helpful to know the cause of the problem.

stress is a huge factor in hair loss. You could try vitamins but it usually wont make that much of a difference, but everyone is different

Re: I think my hair is falling out
How often do you wash your hair? What shampoo have you been using? Try, right before you get out of the shower, blast your hair with cold water. It seals the cuticles and follicles. (and makes your hair shiny!) The Nioxin will be good for clearing out the follicles and closing them, so it locks your hair in. It will not, at least that I have seen, make your hair grow back, but it does prevent you from losing more. Try taking vitamins with Biotin in it. Also folic acid is great. I had a client who would take prenatal vitamins (the ones you find over the counter, not rx) and her hair was awesome. But they can make you a little more fertile, I've heard, lol. If you don't find an improvement, go to the dr and get some bloodwork done. Have them test for thyroid issues, and autoimmune problems. (though autoimmune issues would cause more noticable loss). Oh, and use a light, professional brand conditioner. Conditioners such as Dove, Pantene, Finesse, Tressemme, Garnier, etc leave your hair so silky soft because they have wax in them. The wax builds up, clogs up the hair follicles and can cause hair loss. It also casues your hair to sometimes not take color correctly. I've had many clients that I've had to use a strong clarifying shampoo before I colored their hair to get rid of the build up. Good Luck. :)

Re: I think my hair is falling out
Stress or hormone changes maybe.
My hair falls out in clumps and I have to vaccuum all the time cuz it's EVERYWHERE!! I have thick hair so I haven't done anything to stop it. It's been like this since I went through puberty

Re: I think my hair is falling out
It could be
-stress
-a thyroid/hormone thing (in which case, like PP said, get routine bloodword done, no big deal, your primary care physician can do it)
Incidentally, have you changed or started BC lately? That can affect it.
-Unbalanced diet
Def try the biotin. If you don't notice improvement in a few weeks, I'd do the bloodwork thing, but I'm sure it's nothing

Re: I think my hair is falling out
I have the same problem!!! It doesn't matter what shampoo or conditioner I use, or if I wash my hair every other day or just 1x a week - I get out of the shower and see at least 1/2 my hairs clogging up the drain! I've had this problem ever since I turned 28/29...I chalked it up to getting older!
Where do I find this Biotin vitamin? Is it sold as part of a multi-vitamin? Is it expensive?

I'd bet that's a huge part of it. So don't worry about it too much. Give your body some time to settle in and use the BIotin and I'm sure it'll get better.
