Ok so my mom said the most retarded thing to me just now that I had never heard of before...

Is is true that you shouldn't send out wedding invitations until after your bridal shower takes place??? Has anyone heard this before?

My mother looked up the etiquette. They are sending my shower invitations the same time as my wedding invitations...which is the beg. of Aug.

Usually it's the other way around - people are invited to the wedding and not the shower. There really shouldn't be anyone invited to the shower that is not invited to the wedding, unless they are coworkers, etc who KNOW they will not be invited to the wedding. I would be pretty pissed if I was invited to a shower and not the big event itself.
