I think my priest meeting was successful
Ok, so yesterday afternoon I finally met with one of the priests who will be doing my wedding. (I'm having two priests concelebrate the Mass because I'm close with both of them and I couldn't choose one over the other!)
He said he is so happy to see how fantastic FH has been throughout my illness and even said when we're alone, 'He's going to be a wonderful husband.' (Awww....I got all teary when he said that to me!)
But then he said, 'So, you're getting married, August 15, 2008, right?' And I corrected him that it was 2009. And just like everybody else he said, 'Oh? Your wedding is in TWO years? Why?'
So I pointed to the scarf on my head and that seemed to remind him that I'm not in remission yet! LOL
Anyway, I told him that I'm having a problem locating my baptismal certificate and he told me to go to the church where I received Confirmation and if they don't have a copy of the baptismal certificate, at the very least the name of the church I was baptized in will be recorded on the Confirmation certificate and that will at least narrow down the search. Then he mentioned something about having to get permission from the Bishop to marry in the Catholic church since FH isn't Catholic, but he said that's just a formality...it's not like the Bishop will say no, it's just something that's needed.
He said right now just to focus on getting the baptismal certificate so we can get all the paperwork done and then once that's done he'll give me all the info on Pre-Cana and stuff. He kept saying, 'You have plenty of time....' But somehow I have a feeling it's gonna go FAST!
