I think this may be the dumbest question I have posted yet...

How do I found out where my town hall is? We need to go and get our marriage license asap since we will be turning in our birth certificates to get our passports (I know...we are procrastinators). We both live in East Meadow. Anyone have any idea where we go and what we need to bring?

i think that you live within the town of hempstead so you would go to the town of hempstead ..

town of hempstead marriage license

and also on that page to the left you can find information on getting passports..

I think East Meadow is in the Hempstead Township. You would go to the Hempstead townhall to get your marriage license. I just googled it for you - it's at 1 Washington Street in Hempstead. Phone# (516) 489-5000. HTH.

You can visit any Town Hall. You may want to check the TO Oyster Bay or Town of Hempstead.
We live in TOB and we got ours in Oyster Bay because they were open late on Tuesdays.

Bring your birth certificates and drivers license. They will not take a passport. Oh and don't forget your check for $40.00

if u don't live on long island but are getting married on long island where do u go to get ur license?

A New York State license is a New York State license. As long as you get it at least 2 days before your wedding, but no more then 60 days before your wedding, at any town hall in NY state, you are fine.

you can actually go to any town hall. just check out their websites and they will usually have directions.

I think as long as you live in NYS you can go to any town hall in new york state. at least that's what i was told.
You can go to the Town of Oyster Bay, or the Town of North Hempstead

from my experience the Town Hall in Oyster Bay is usually less crowded. I'm not sure why.
