So we were trying to find a small getaway for a mini honeymoon before we take our big one in December..we wanted to just relax and not have to travel too far...so Ilooked up places in the hamptons and montauk..EVERYWHERE I looked was booked already! granted, its labor day weekend, but still. yikes! so I got really nervous and fmil actually suggested the city..
sooo I was looking online and most places were like 1,000 a night (damn) then I kept looking and looking and came across the Empire Hotel. apparently, Gossip Girl is filmed there (Dont watch it so idk!) and lots of celebs stay there. They have a rooftop bar / pool / lounge thing, restaurants and it has a very modern feel to it. And best of all, its not THAT expensive! We would leave Saturday afternoon, go to dinner at their restauarant, they have a spa there, take a horse and buggy ride, see a broadway play and just RELAX and enjoy being married! I hope it works out! I want to go see the hotel in person though before we book! Here are some pics!

Before you book through the empire hotel look at it through Expedia...The rates are over a 100 dollars cheaper per night for the junior suite and you also get 10% off spa services when booked that way. HTH
