I think we're going to go to the Bahamas...

as part of our honeymoon, and wait to go to the US Virgin Islands until our 1 year anniversary. For us right now, it's so much more affordable. A plane ticket from Orlando is 25% of what a ticket to the Virgin Islands costs. Anyway, has anyone been there before? If so, can I ask you some questions about the islands/hotels? So far, I've found some fun stuff for us to do. Horseback riding through trails and on the beach (I've never been on a horse before, so I'm excited about that), a sunset dinner cruise, a couples dolphin experience (you actually swim, and can hold on to the dolphins), and we thought we might actually throw in a booze cruise. I've found more stuff to do there, probably because it's a popular tourist attraction. We don't care though... we've never been to the Caribbean, so we'll enjoy it.

I just got back from Sandals. I also was there a few years ago and stayed at Breezes. We took a ride over to Atlantis late one night and I cant tell you what it is like during the day with the pools, etc, but it was a beautiful hotel.

I went to the Bahamas on my honeymoon and
stayed at
Sandals.
LOVED the
Bahamas,
DIDN'T love Sandals. We took a few day trips over to Atlantis, inquired about rates, spoke to the guests, and decided that we will be staying there the next time we go.

So far from what I've researched, Atlantis on Paradise Island, and Our Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island are the two I'm interested in. Atlantis seems to be more expensive though. I don't really know anything about the islands... but are you able to take a ferry or something to get from island to island? Thanks!

Yes, there are many ferries to take you to other islands from Paradise Island. They make it very tourist friendly.
