I threw a football at my FH last night

And told him to marry it!

I hate fantasy football

I hate loosing my FH on Monday nights because hes out watching the game with his cousins.

I hate the constant calls on my FH's phone from members of his fantasy league arguing over bad trades or which player is hurt & cannot play.

I hate football.

I threw a football at him and told him to marry it.

I've had it. I cant take it anymore

I got into a HUGGGGEEEE argument with him last night over this (and we hardly ever ever ever argue-if we do its 99.9% always about his parents)

Im loosing him to football.

Im going to start a countdown until football season is over

Honey, trust me we all as women feel this way. IMHO it is never going to change. Football is so damn important to these men. Please just let it go.

I am sorry sweetie, I feel the same way about hockey. Lost FH to a game last night & tongiht he is playing. There is nothing we can do about it. I look at it as time alone at home & I get to watch whatever I WANT on TV!

hey atleast its only 16 weeks just be happy he is not into Baseball which seems to last forever....

i gave up that fight. he is in 3 fantasy football leauges and is the head of one of them. so i lose him sunday the entire day and monday nights.
hope he wins them though so he can buy his dam gigantic tv without any of our money paying for it..

Janie my fellow football widow, I feel your pain. FH left the house in the 7:00 am hour on Saturday morning only to return at 8pm after a day of playing and drinking and watching football at the bar after he played. The next day I left to help Janna with her dress because I would not subject myself to the idiocy of FANTASY football. Playing is one thing, but playing pretend is no different than playing war games with GI Joe dolls.

You gotta go to a game, if you havent already. I took my husband to a game in Philli a few weeks ago (that was his wedding gift) and OMG did we have the best time ever. I want to go all the time now, the fans are nuts!

I grew up in Uniondale and use to watch the Jets practice during recess in the 1st grade LOL. They use to practice on land owned my Hofstra, but thats a fire house now LOL

I personally like football. However, if you don't, you know the old saying, 'If you can't beat them, join them'. Try and watch it, ask him to explain the game to you, you might be interested!

ETA: And if you're not, do stuff for yourself that day. Designate Sundays to shopping, catching up with girlfriends, or relaxing. If he's completely ignoring you, then tell him AFTER football how that makes you feel. Just don't do it DURING the game. My husband is into that fantasy football thing also but I think it's cute how he gets so into it. GOOD LUCK!

football isn't as bad an addiction as many other things he could be hooked on.

Its only a few months out of the year and it leaves Monday nights open for you to do girly things if you want.

I like football as well so I guess maybe I am biased in my opinion but I think you should just do something you enjoy and let him have his football.

I'm so sorry-I have to admit that I thought the title of your post is hilarious.

I am going to have to disagree with some of the people here. Why sit through a game, whether it be on TV or in person if you do not like it? I have tried to like it and I just don't. I dont care how many fans are screaming or how many hot dogs are being served. I just don't like it. Do you think guys would sit through a day of Lifetime made for TV movies just to show they share interests with us? That, IMO, is silly. Unfortunately Janie, like many of us, you will have to develop interests of your own that coincide with the timing of your FH's need to watch games and participate in Fantasy Sports. I am continuing to do that and keeping myself busy enriches my life in a way a football game never can. It is only when the NEED or ADDICTION to football interferes with very important things, that it becomes an issue. Until and unless it does, try not to get angry, Allow him to have that time and THEN you can always throw it back in his face when something REALLY important comes along!

I just cant get into football

But I still love him

Take the good with the bad.. fortunately for me.. this is his only bad

I feel your pain. I am not a football widow, I am a fantasy baseball widow. FH & I both love the Yankees, but when it comes to his fantasy league (of which he is the commissioner) it makes me nuts!! The fantasy league requires a computer simulation to be run three times a week at 9:00 PM, and it takes 1/2 hour. And one of those nights is Friday!!!! That means we can't do anything those nights because he has to be home to run the stupid computer program.
