I vow never to registry peek again

I vow never to registry peek again

I was peeking at Crate & Barrel and I saw the most horrifying purchase ever! FH & I registered for a $600 fountain and a 3-way mirror for $400. We did this because after the wedding we will get a discount and be able to purchase them.
Well, my boss bought me the $600 fountain as an engagement gift! I am livid! I can't believe it. We don't even have space for it...it was just a pipe dream on the registry. I was hoping for towels or dishes. Instead I am getting the most insane and expenisve shtuff ever!

MKM lesson of the day: Be careful what you register for!!!!

now you won't have to worry about buying it yourself after the wedding! or you can return it and get a lot more stuff

Just return it-- you can return any of your registry items.. Just don;t invite your boss over for dinner--

Very generous gift though!

wOw, I wish I had a boss like yours. Just return it if you don't really need it.

I have to say I'm a bit surprised at your reaction.. sorry if I am misreading it! But it sounds like you're not happy about this? Obviously whatever you put on your registry somebody *might* buy, so you gotta be prepared... and this is clearly a very generous gift. I can't imagine what he'll give you for the wedding?! But if you don't have enough space for it (or at least somewhere to store it), you should not have registered for it. JMO.
