westbury manor is gorgeous! i would have loved to have my wedding there, but i had nowhere near the amount of people they wanted for the nice big room! you will find something just as beautiful closer to you dont you worry.. and maybe try talking to fh about how its important that you at least just pick a place for now. maybe he will budge on that.

My FH doesn't even want to look at halls, even if I show them to him online! He thinks we have sooo much time to figure it out. But dam it, I want to do it SOON!!! I hear Westbury Manor is gorgeous, I know someone who got married there a few years ago and I hear it was fantastic!

i guess we're in the same boat. My fh even suggested me wait till last minute like a month before and try to get a good deal. i told him he's nuts and there is no way that's happening.

Yeah, I really don't think they understand what goes into weddings on long island! Its not like you can just call your buddies up the week before and have everyone show up. It takes so much time and effort!! Ugh, boys are dumb

Try to tell FH that if you book soon you will get a better rate...just as an incentive
I loved Westbury manor and they have the garden room which I'm using and it's for a smaller amount of people if that's what you are looking for. I also loved the Watermill and the Fox Hollow.
I did a lot of research though before I booked I went to at least 15 halls and waited almost a year before I finally found a place. So hang in there - you will book soon enough and then the payments start

It's not that far. You should drive them and time it around the time your guests would be going there. There are muuuuuch further places you could make guests travel to. I'm a big WM advocate!
