Gasp!!!!!!! I think the opposite. Some of the prettiest weddings I've seen have had black bridesmaid dresses or white bridesmaid dresses. I guess it's a matter of opinion, though...
I'm doing black. I think it's soooooo elegant, and ANY color flower goes with them and makes a great POP of color.
PLUS, you should have seen the faces of my bridesmaids when I told them I was doing black. Like this: That made it worth it for me!!! I've seen so many people spend a fortune on a bridesmaid dress in a color that they'd wear only once. I didn't want to do that to mah chicas.
But yes, if you want to do a stand- out thing, black probably isn't the right choice for you. __________
The one thing I didn't like at a wedding (and I apologize in advance if anyone is doing this...) is the dollar dance. Just my opinion though...

Our dresses are black aswell and the girls are SOOOOO happy about that. They will be able to wear the dress again. I think it's such an elegant look. Of course, my opinion :)
Things I don't like is the clicking of the glasses or the ringing of the bells for the bride and groom to kiss.........

Girl, you can always wear a black cocktail dress
But Spring is fun - all the colors you can choose from! But today, I don't think those rules apply. Wear what you want!

Re: I want....
My cousin used black for her BM's and I thought it was very elegant. Everyone had a different style gown and it looked very nice.

Re: I want....
My brother is doing black. Black is nice when you can pick your dress but some of them are obviously 'bridesmaids' dresses and really can't be worn again!

Re: I want....
unfortunately, i didn't like my best friends wedding... she invited every kid she ever babysat for, so there were almost 40 kids running around the whole time, and the older people couldn't dance.... kids are fine, but she had waayyy too many! they also didn't hae any alcohol, either ( super religious) aat another wedding, the music wasn't good. the bride had given the DJ a playlist of songs and told him not to go off of the playlist... the problem was it was all her taste in music and it was more mellow and not really dancing music... so, i think while its gre4at to give the DJ a few suggestions of what you like and don't like, you also have to remember that they do this every weekend, they know what works, and you should let them do their job....
from my wedding, i probably would have changed the bo-k /garter toss... my 25 year old friend caught the bo-k and my 12 year old cousin got the garter, so the DJ had to come up with something so that the 12 year old boy wasn't putting the garter on the older girls leg... i would have still done the tosses, but i would have opened them up to all women and all men... AND i wouldn't have had the garter catcher put it on the bo-k cathcher....

Re: I want....
I dislike the electric slide and the congo line but my DJ keeps telling me I need to have a least one song like this to get older crowd moving. I dislike when ppl cling silverware to their glasses for the bride and grrom to kiss. What's w/ that anyway...lol

Re: I want....
The thing that I dislike the most at weddings (and I don't mean to offend anyone) is Table Cameras. I feel like you either get the same basic pictures (cake cutting, first dance, etc..) which usually are taken WAY too far away.... or a bunch of really drunk inappropriate or extremely out of focus/close up pics of people who have clearly drank too much. JMO....nothing personal, I just don't see the point in spending the money. I would rather just have friends email their pics (chances are there will be a good amount of people taking digital pics)

Re: I want....
i hate when there's too many people at a table. it's so uncomfortable. you can't even move. hate hate hate that. i'm taking that into consideration for my seating... the hall gave me 10-12 at a table. so i'm trying to do 8-10.
