I want my dress to look like this:

I want my dress to look like this:

This is not my dress, however I really love how the back of the dress poofs out from the waist down. I'm not exactly sure what type of underskirts I would need to get to give it that look. Would any of you ladies know? Notice how the front isn't as poofed out, but the back really is? That's exactly what I want.

Naturally I would purchase it from the store where I got my dress, but I'd like to do some research on Ebay and possibly get it for cheaper. I'd like to purchase it well in advance, so that when it's time for me to do my alterations, I'll already have it along with my veil and wedding shoes.

If you know the underskirts or whatever it is I need to make this dress looks this way, I'd really appreciate if you could help out.
Thanks!

I'm not 100%, but usually crinoline will puff up the bottom of your dress. There might be crinoline for the back as well

do you think it'll be easy to sit with the back that puffy?

I think it might be the dress that makes it poof out in the back like that, not the crinoline?

lol..i didn't think of that! But I'm sure I'll figure it out. If I have to squat and pretend that I'm sitting so be it!

I guess I may have no choice but to have the alterations department take care of this for me at the bridal store. I was trying to find the cheap way out of it.

In the old days they did this a lot (like if you watch movies with an older time period--I forget which one exactly, I think before gone with the wind, but maybe that's it) to get that butt poof they actually used to wear a waist pillow--like a specially shaped pillow attached to thick elastic that would fit over their corset. HTHs.

its crinoline that you'll have to add to the slip/underskirt you are wearing.. short pieces in length that are gathered and sewn on to the slip/skirt under your dress..then they would add pieces in tiers to get to that effect..

i had them on the sides of my dress to give the effect of a ball gown but had them removed because it didnt look right for me..

keep in mind that the more you add the heavier your dress will feel.. once my mom removed those pieces from my dress it was much lighter...

hth

So I guess I just need a skirt, and add more layers to the back? That makes sense as well.
I just assumed there was a skirt that sold it that way. I have a seamstress that can do this for me.

I love this option along with the waist pillow...i'm going to look into both.
