If being induced is what will make you more relaxed and happier during your baby's birth, than go for it. That is what is so great about being able to choose your practiconer, your hospital, etc. The power of choice is a huge gift in our lives.

as long as you make an informed decision then you should have control over your medical decisions. and, of course, as long as it is 'time' for the baby to arrive.

Re: I Want To Be Induced
I don't think it sounds weird, your reasons are plausible. Everytime I see a car speeding or running a light, I use to think it was a crazy driver but now I wonder if there's a Mom in labor in the car. When I was in labor with Lukie, I remember my DH running a really long light and this driver giving us the 'WTF' look...if only they knew. It can definitely be anxiety provoking to say the very least.
I had my first prenatal appt 2 weeks ago and my doctor actually mentioned inducing b/c my son was so big. I thought it was a weird first appt conversation but it got me wondering which I preferred.

Re: I Want To Be Induced
My cousin was induced for her second. It made it much easier for her to deal with planning the care of and preparing her then 2 yo son. I watched her son (my godson) and Ill never forget him telling me 'Mommy went to the Dr. to get my sister out of her tummy'
I cant believe that little guy is going off to college next year.

Re: I Want To Be Induced
Considering that we drove 40 miles at a MINIMUM speed of 75 mph to get to the hospital, with the hazard lights on while weaving in and out of traffic, I can't say I blame you.
(Before anyone freaks out, YES what Patrick did IS illegal, but it was necessary. As far as our safety is concerned, at any other time I would have been all over him to slow down and stop driving like an animal, but I was too miserable to care. Luckily, he was a HIGHLY trained highway patrol cop before he was promoted, so I was in good hands. )
